I was going into University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday to work the Rams/Cardinals game with my shiny new chrome lavatube and was told that 'Electronic Cigarettes are NOT allowed to be brought into the stadium' by the S.A.F.E. supervisor at the pat down check. I explained to him that while this was my 1st time I've come to work w/a shiny new chrome lavatube (sorry, I just love saying 'shiny new chrome lavatube') I've brought my EGO kit to all the games this season and vape in the 'smoking area' on my break. He pulled out a pamphlet of allowable/prohibited items and showed me that, yes, he's right, Electronic Cigarettes are on the prohibited list. When it came down to me telling him that I'm NOT going to work a 10-12 hr shift w/out nicotine and that he can call my boss and tell him why I'm not going to be at work that day he relented and said I could bring it in this time but for future games it won't be allowed in. I walked in, scanned the area by the gate that employees use to enter the stadium and saw the head of University of Phoenix Stadiums HR department and asked him about the policy. Together we walked over to the head of S.A.F.E. Security and put the question to him, more regarding employees than fans, and he said that employees CAN bring in electronic cigarettes but have to vape in the smoking area (which I knew from preseason game 1) and that he would talk to the pat down supervisor.
I'm wondering if this is the policy at all NFL stadiums, just the ones that have S.A.F.E. Security or just University of Phoenix Stadium.
