Have no idea because I don't have another to compare with though I own a silver and chose the color it in hopes of getting a more current build. If it happens to be better at boosting the voltage the manufacturer still has some headroom for improvement according to my "under load" results though it serves my purpose/needs for a vv mod very well.

I quite agree Keeno, for the price, it serves my purposes well. I really don't need total stability at
6.0 volts.

I'm just interested to see if the rumours are true. Unless they have changed to a new chip, there
is not really any room for improvement.

IMO I don't get why anyone would need a steady 6 volts lol. Every juice I have tried at 6 volts has been...well...ughhh. great throat hit though!

Mine pulls 5.8v @6.0 with a full charge....overkill for me as well...especially @ 24mg....lol. Honestly made me a bit light headed and that hadn't happened since I use to smoke analogs. I tend to vape between 4.6-5.2 with the juices I've tried on it so far. Have been wondering with the nicotine "hit" I get from it if it's the delivery system as I'm using a tube on it and this is the first device I've used a tube on....hits hard for sure.....:)

I just love the 'Turbo' cartomisers that I have from Cloud 9 Vaping. Although they are only
single coil they wick really well and seem to be just perfect at 4.4 volts. (They have a 3 ohm
resistance.)

They certainly give loads more vapour than the eGo-T system that I started with and eat
through the juice as well. I guess it's a good thing that I'm on 18mg, I can imagine the hit
from anything stronger.

I prefer to vape more rather than less, so keeping the nic level lower is essential.

I've been hearing that the new silver LavaTubes provide better regulation and/or more
current. I don't have a new one myself, mine is one of the original black ones.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Newly Released Products Usually have a Second, or Third, Revision in the works at the Time of Release.

OEM’s Like to generate some Sales to recoup Development Costs and then let the General Public perform Real World Beta Testing for them. It also Benchmarks demand to determine Future production run size.

I would be Very Surprised if there Wasn’t a Second Generation Lavatube being Manufactured as we speek. And a Third Generation Model in the Design Phase.

Well if the OEM can improve upon this product and Volcano picks it up I may be a loyal customer....lol. Man, this thing with a Boge 3.0 cart and some Tribeca juice is awesome right now....wow....TH, warmth and lots of vapor is the "trifecta" in my book...
