Hype?

If you want to see a device torture tested, give it to me. I work in a dirty mill, and I'm a klutz. I've destroyed every device I've had in my hand in less than two months....except my provari. I've been abusing it for 9 months.

This is what I quoted:

There are two kinds of people on this forum: Those without Provari V2's and those who are kicking themselves for not getting it sooner.

Yeah, hype. :D

you turn a blind eye to the bad reviews of the zmax? their have been some, i was just helping someone last week on the forum with a torn seal on his zmax on the battery post, and the week before that a recessed center pin....simply put you never hear about this on the provari....

recently, being tired of people saying i'm partial to the provari, i've decided to order a zmax. when it comes in i'm going to put it through it's paces when it comes in and let you know, personally if you wish, how these stress tests go....but i don't see what all the hype is about other than the fact that the device is VW.

the Zmax is the new kid on the block, its shiney and captivating, but i do NOT think it will have the longevity of the provari, it simply doesn't appear to be of the same build quality...it's just another cheap chinese knockoff with a few new bells and whistles that will probably do what every other chinese knockoff does: crap out in six months....but hell, i never know, by the time my Zmax v2 gets here, we may be staring at the release date on the Zmax v6 right?

All of this because I said I liked my Zmax? I mean, really? Do you have an axe to grind? You might consider going up on your NIC level. I posted I liked my Zmax and it is obviously my opinion. I have also found it to be worth the price and the quality meets my expectations. You immediately went on the offensive with "let us know what time it is in 6 months" or something another.

I think the war of the Provari over everything is funny. When will the Provari army realize that no one cares about their war? Keep going, I'll stay amused.

I'm sure that no one has mentioned this, but you should look at the Provari V2.

There are two kinds of people on this forum: Those without Provari V2's and those who are kicking themselves for not getting it sooner.

I drop mine on concrete at least once a week. Once a month, it lands carto down, and rips the carto off the socket. I unscrew the remaining bit of carto from the provari thread with my knife, load a new $2 carto, and vape on. You can't kill this thing.

Yes, a fully dressed out Provari is twice the price of anything else in it's class. It's worth every penny to not have to wonder when it's going to die and leave me hanging, like every other device I've had in my hand.

Wow that's just offensive in some ways, then I think it is sad or even humorous. I mean you really think that there are only two kinds of people on this forum? I have no interest in the Provari today though, that could change if they add VW to the device.

I think there is a limited number of people that really need their device to suffer the torture you give yours.

I'd mind you to stop with the insults directly at me.

the new Zmax fanboys seem to be more fanatical than the provari fans have ever been and in a shorter life span...why all this talk you ask? Do you think you are the only one I've had a debate on weather the zmax is a valid long term option? No.

as far as other things...the Vmax and Zmax are effectively Chinese knockoffs of the provari. there, I said it and I'm not afraid to...want proof? Check the menu system and features....they are near identical, except one clicks three times and one clicks five times. the accuracy is a question unless you have a zmax 2, as far as longevity, I've heard many stories of the Vmax dying out quickly, and they already have enough bad reviews of the zmax to speak volumes in the favor of the provari.

I'm fairly new to these forums, but I'm feeling a little like Rodney King!

"Can't we all just get along?!"

Let's remember that not smoking tobacco products is the goal here. The written word sometimes causes strife where unintended because tone and inflection aren't easily conveyed. We all have more in common than not...

This got me chuckling...Off Topic, may I suggest a lanyard or something? LOL! Gotta protect those investments.

hello ECF!

i own a lavatube lambo v4 chrome for a month+

thinking of upgrading to another VV device.

any good suggestions?

been reading alot of review on provari and zmax.

I was just at this same spot. I just ordered a Provari myself. I decided to skip all the ,bolts, zmax, vmax, lava tube's, ect. ect. ect. And go straight to the gold standard. I believe I will save money in the long run skipping all the others.

i started with Egos, later when i was sure that vapivg>analogs i wanted something better
when i was looking for a new device, in europe the provari was 2x more expensive than Vmax
so i buyed the Vmax
after i tried the provari of my friend, i want one too :D
dont know if its the right word for it, but the vape from provari with the same atty is more velvet-ish

if you can, try bot the Zmax and provari before buying, so you dont "need" to buy a provari after the Zmax

Look, I don't know what the color of the sky is in your world. I'm not debating you. You are attacking me for posting my opinion.
Obviously you have a problem with the Chinese. Why would I care if the "*max" devices were knockoffs of the provari?
Again, I own a Zmax and I am happy with my purchase. Do I really need to report you to a Mod so that you leave me alone?

Not a bad review overall, except most of the time he kept using LR attys which didn't make sense in terms of showing what its best for. He says it misfires using a LR 1.2 ohm on it. It won't work with anything under 1.2 ohms - it's designed not to. And it can cut off approaching that. So that was all a bit of a mismatch in the review IMO.

He says you have to fire to check ohms - I don't and it has been accurate on the ohms on my Zmax1 and Zmax 2.
The side grooves on mine aren't sharp. I've read another review where some-one said they were a bit sharp, but others have said theirs aren't.
RMS is something only recently added to the general vaping knowledge base. So there are a lot of devices prior to this that don't have it. It's commendable to see that it's been added.
I leave my Zmax 1 standing up all the time and it hasn't had wobbles or fallen over. My Zmax 2 also stands up fine.

He did say its the best mod he's bought in the last year, and he did recommend it.

Here's a better review on the accuracy across ohms - just click Google translate at the top. You don't need translate for the numbers tho:
http://www.mountainprophet.de/2012/10/25/und-sie-bewegt-sich-doch-zmax-v2-0-rms-ist-da/

The black numbers are for the v2.

in the last YEAR, sure, but he is a provari owner...no one has done head to head yet, i'm waiting on PBusardo's video on it....Zmax2 is third or fourth in the review queue for him and will probably go more in debth.

he recommended it, yes, to someone who does not have a VV device already or a new vaper looking to get into VV mods....again no mention of any comparisons, he kept that classy.

but bottom line - it's STILL not as accurate as the provari...and to achieve maximum accuracy, you have to stack batteries, which i'm TOTALLY against...and it is STILL off....another thing was the firing button got stuck, the misfires, and why in god's name would it fire a 1.5 ohm juice delivery system at 6 volts? that's like asking for a battery ventilation.

but the biggest thing i noticed right off the bat in the review: it is NOT really stainless steel......weight doesn't lie, steel is heavier than chrome plated copper, even if it were copper plated in stainless the stainless steel version would STILL be heavier....something doesn't seem right there...it downright stinks.

Often with new kits the batteries have not changed any seen suppliers only revise their e-cig designs once a year unless their is a problem with them. It's always the hardware that goes on them that is constantly being updated always a new cartomizer or atomizer coming out so a lot easier to just upgrade your atomizers/cartomizers/clearomizers to keep your self up to date. 510 and 808 threads have been the same for the past 8 years only knew threads are the gogo wich is a syle only they use and not that popular

8 years? ecigs have only been in north america for about 4....what is this 8 years you speak of?

I've worked with Stainless Steel for 25 years and the Zmax I have is 304/A2 steel. Vape TV just did a review of the accuracy last week and the end statement was there wasn't a significant difference between the accuracy of the Zmax vs.the Provari. Lots of people have put the v2 Zmax through testing and found it is accurate.

You just can't go wrong with a Zmax v2. Its a nice device at a stunning price. If you purchase it from a good dealer it will have a 6 month or more warranty. Mine has 6 months of warranty and I think that's fair.
