Do any amount of reading the comments of Provari users, new and old, here on ECF, and there will be no question on what to buy. Yes, it is expensive. buy it now, or buy it later, you'll probably end up getting one. Once you do, you'll kick yourself for not buying one to begin with. Yes, they are really worth the money.

The Zmax is a great for me and the reviews of the v2 claim the variances are gone in voltage settings. I use the VW function so I've never cared about the variances. The SS edition is solid. I dropped mine today, about 20 feet onto concrete. The was barely a scratch on it and it works the same.

With the numbers of Zmaxs sold I expect there will be plenty of feedback on that topic. I've had mine coming up on 2 months so we only have 4 more months to go before I can answer. What makes you think it is susceptible to failure? I've seen your sentiment posted by many in several places but I haven't seen anyone say why they feel like the Zmax will be problematic.

I haven't seen a lot of posts around the forums with people talking about failures and since there were plenty out for a month or more before I got mine we should have lots of users with 3 or more months on their devices.

That's the thing really. Putting up a pv that's been around a long time (in vape time) against a newcomer is asking impossible questions. The tendency is for some people to bash the older one (Provari) because it lacks new features, i.e. variable wattage, or to bash the new one based on speculation, i.e. it won't last. This usually comes from people who don't own the new pv. Or who don't own the old one. Some people will want variable wattage, some won't. Some buy both pvs. Of those who have both I've read some who prefer the Provari, and some who prefer the Zmax 2. In other words, its down to user preference.
I chose the Zmax because I wanted variable wattage. Simple reason.

I don't even see the point of this thread, since the OP has said he/she has already read lots of reviews on both. All the arguments have been made. This seems like being asked to jump through the same hoops again.

FYI . zmax v2 cost half of the provari price here in malaysia. :p

The same can be said for the Zmax v2 here in the US. Madvapes has them for 90.00 USD and you can get 10% off of that.
With 80-90.00 being the current price it is easily half the price of the provari. I don't have a problem with the provari but I can easily buy 2 Zmax devices for one of those. I am also hooked on VW. If/when the Provari has that option I would likely buy one.
Price isn't my concern. I buy whatever I want and what works for me is VW so the Zmax is the right fit for me. I wouldn't mind having a Gripper with VW and a nice OLED display. We should see lots of new stuff in the coming months.

you turn a blind eye to the bad reviews of the zmax? their have been some, i was just helping someone last week on the forum with a torn seal on his zmax on the battery post, and the week before that a recessed center pin....simply put you never hear about this on the provari....

recently, being tired of people saying i'm partial to the provari, i've decided to order a zmax. when it comes in i'm going to put it through it's paces when it comes in and let you know, personally if you wish, how these stress tests go....but i don't see what all the hype is about other than the fact that the device is VW.

the Zmax is the new kid on the block, its shiney and captivating, but i do NOT think it will have the longevity of the provari, it simply doesn't appear to be of the same build quality...it's just another cheap chinese knockoff with a few new bells and whistles that will probably do what every other chinese knockoff does: crap out in six months....but hell, i never know, by the time my Zmax v2 gets here, we may be staring at the release date on the Zmax v6 right?

I'm sure that no one has mentioned this, but you should look at the Provari V2.

There are two kinds of people on this forum: Those without Provari V2's and those who are kicking themselves for not getting it sooner.

I drop mine on concrete at least once a week. Once a month, it lands carto down, and rips the carto off the socket. I unscrew the remaining bit of carto from the provari thread with my knife, load a new $2 carto, and vape on. You can't kill this thing.

Yes, a fully dressed out Provari is twice the price of anything else in it's class. It's worth every penny to not have to wonder when it's going to die and leave me hanging, like every other device I've had in my hand.

It's not hype, it's people talking about a new pv. The way they're talking is no different to the way people talk about other pvs, including provari. There's already some thorough reviews available.

Putting aside the snark at where it was made, what is it supposed to be a knock off of? Sure, the Darwin is VW, but it's not a tube mod. Since most pvs are made in China, and some are better than others, your comment seems quite biased about nationality more than anything.

By your logic no-one would ever buy a new pv because the provari has been around longer. That's dogmatic.

Like I said, it's asking impossible questions about longevity to put one against the other. I've seen people needing help with provari problems on the forum too - and yes, they are routinely told to send them to provape who have excellent CS.
That's fine. The Zmax comes with a warranty. For the price it's a good deal.
