Upgrade Questions

My second post on these boards and its in a vet thread, I'm defying my normal formum etiquite!

Make - joyetech
Model - eGo-C
What atty or carto: eGo-C atty's and SmokTech DCT
What liquid: 50/50
What strength: 1.8%

That being said I'll jump right on in. Couple weeks ago I made my triumphant return to the realm of E. This time around it was like a clarity of mind, I'm in this for the long haul. Previous to that day I had done some searching around and purchased and eGo-C kit along with a little of everything, DCT, carto's, different mixes of juice so on so forth, I'm a trial and error type of person. I bought the entry level for just that reason, at the time of purchase wasn't sure how close the entry and exit would reside. I'm already interested in upgrading. I don't consider myself advanced by any means, but I have a background in microcomputer electronics engineering and am very mechanically inclined, therefor appreciating the time that goes into design and functionality of some of these mods. Immediately after getting the "101" out of the way my interests were perked by some of the top shelf, rebuild-able units offering single piece construction, built in tanks, high end materials and so on. My question is a simple one, what is the best road for me to take at this point? Money is not an issue but I see that some of these more trick rigs come with a waiting line out the door and far around the corner. Should I consider an intermediary unit instead of jumping straight for the top?

If you were in my position what would you thoughts be towards, and why?

I'm not looking for the answer to these question so I can have someone else fill my shopping basket, only for professional answers to spark my thoughts.

Well, we don't have professional answers here. It's completely volunteer and absolutely does not pay a dime.

I can see you've done your research well and understand the current marketplace very well. I know I've admired some of the high end rebuildables, but remain completely turned off by the lists and waiting lines.

The closest I've seen to getting to your endpoint is probably the Bulli A2 T combined with the ProVari. The ProVari is a rock solid device and the Bulli is a rebuildable with a good reputation that seems to be in stock more often than not.

If what you list at the top - the eGo-c - is 101, then after three years I'm still a freshman I have about 6 eGo-c's as my main vapes. I've went through many mods - Janty Stick, protege, chameleon, big brother vv, Bartleby box mod, 5 volt box mod, various VV's, wet box bottom feeder, e-power and the Reo-mini. The only one that I still vape is the Reo-mini - another well built bottom feeder that uses 14500mAh 3.7v batts.

The thing that drives me (other than the nicotine) is flavor and vapor and flavor is more important if the vapor is adequate. The flavors that I've come to love are best handled by the eGo-c with the eGo-c tanks. For me (except for the Reo-mini perhaps) it is the best thing next to dripping. And I do have one pv that I use for dripping - an eGo-c upgrade PT with a cisco 306lr atty. But for on the go and vaping in public - the eGo-c fits me well. I find the higher voltage either burns out or washes out the flavors I like, so the vv mods are not something I personally need - BUT that's because of the flavors. Some flavors need the heat and maintain flavor on higher voltages with the right atty or carto. I also have a sensitivity to carto and cart fillers which take away or add an off-taste to the the taste of my ejuices, so the tank system fits me well.

For some vapers, flavor isn't as important as throat hit and clouds of vapor - so the trick is to find out what it is you like about vaping and go from there. If it's flavor, then find the flavors you love and find the hardware that will best deliver those flavors. If it's big vapor, then get the most wattage you can, without destroying atomizers. If it's throat hit, then find the best hit out there in nic and/or flavor. The point is - find what you like about vaping first, THEN choose the hardware that will get you there. If you go for hardware first, you're likely to waste a lot of money even if it isn't an issue.

So.... the reo-mini is one mod that I"ve found delivers a flavor well, but I don't consider it an 'upgrade' to the eGo-c. My 'upgrade' IS the eGo-c.
