Hello. I am a newbie here and have been vaping for four months. Started with ego setup with three batteries in rotation and T3S clearos and it is okay. Now my batteries are starting to fade and I believe that a mod may be a less expensive route to take in the long run. I figure three new batts several times per year is just too much. Problem is, I live in a rural area and the local juice shop only carries ego products so there is no one to ask advice. My research has shown the the Vamo v3 from fasttech is a pretty good deal but there are many options and I am overwhelmed. Can anyone recommend a decent inexpensive mod and just any advice in general as what to look for in a setup? I don't even know what batteries are the best for these mods. Criminy! There are so many! I am open to trying new tanks, as well but the mod would also need to have the ego threading to fit the T3S because I am totally into changing up flavors quite frequently and I keep about 20 filled so I can switch out at a moments notice. I think changing the flavors is what keeps me vaping and off the analogs. Thanks.

I can only say I've been happy with my Vamo. I was like you after a few months when I got it. I bought a couple of Efest IMR 18650 flat top batteries with it, which I rotate/charge about every 2-3 days. My understanding is that AW batteries are more highly though of than Efest batteries, and I've seen good comments on Panasonic batteries as well. I think I'd avoid any no-name batteries or, as they say, any batteries with the word "Fire" in the name. I soon upgraded from the cheapy Trustfire ("Fire" in the name again) charger to a Nitecore I4 intellicharger. As for the T3s, they won't fit into the well on my Vamo V2, but might work on the V3, someone will chime in with the answer, but I bought a 501-eGO thread adapter so I could use my T3.

Because the Vamo is like carrying around a night stick, I also bought an iTaste VV version 3, which is VV and VW, but has a non-replaceable battery, so I have no idea how long it's going to last. It's nice, though.

SVD is a bigger nightstick than a vamo but still love it. I mainly use my mechs now along with my rebuildables but probably best to start out with a vv/VW mod unless you like the idea of making coils or using 1.8ohm heads in your t3.

Haha, sweet. The 'nightstick' size of the SVD actually sold me on it. I plan on using it at home with higher ohm coils and tanks, and to replace the Vamo I gave my gf. Also going to be my ohm-checker as I can't find the standalone unit anywhere in stock. I actually really like the look of the SVD, it just looks so unique. The Tesla is another great looking mod. Anyway, excited as mine will be here tomorrow, along with a .... ton of drip tips and miscellany. I'm also using a mech/RDA combo when I'm out and about, but prefer a VV/VW at home.

I believe a mod will cost you more in the long run, certainly the up front cost is more. But you do have more versatility. You will notice some folks want to go up in volts/watts and some want to go down ( Im the latter),

An Itaste is a fancy E twist, I think its nice but when the batteries are done, its done.

There are so many good mods out there that are inexpensive. The SVD and Vamo seem to be the most popular... I prefer the SVD... my opinion, just like it.

The MVP is a nice mod if you like a boxy form factor and is probably the best bang for the buck....the charge wil last you 2 and a half days.

So many choices.....So many places to order from.....Good luck !

I ordered a SID mod from china earlier this week. Spent only $30 plus $5 shipping. Much better than I have found pretty anywhere else in the US. Will be my first mod so cant give any opinions. As far as other mods, Ive heard good things about other mods but I would say do some research and find something inexpensive for your first. Good luck and happy vaping :)

I have a SMOKTech SID and absolutely love it! I would highly recommend it. I agonized over my decision for quite some time, but the SID I think is the best deal. I got mine for $45 from MyVaporStore.com with the black rubberized paint which gives it a good grip and no worries about scratches or fingerprints. There's no jiggliness and the single button menu system is easy to navigate.

I've only been vaping for three weeks, but I ordered an SVD last week after trying the one my buddy has. Now just waiting on the slow boat from China to get here.

I'll continue to use my ego twists at work or when I'm out and about as they are much easier to carry around, but the SVD will get a lot of use at home.
