Been "DIY'ing" my own menthol juice for the past couple years because I'm allergic to PG and couldn't find a 100% VG juice that I liked. I use Captain Black and Light Brand flavoring from Seedman, as well as menthol crystals from a vendor on eBay. My VG nic base comes from myfreedomsmokes.com in Charlotte, and I get my VG from..... Wal-Mart :). I use everclear to thin it down, and my wife and I vape about 250 mls every 2-2.5 months.

Hey flip,
I've been to seedmans site and remember it being too busy for me. The layout, a lil ADD here!
Ill have to chk it out again.
I've only seen the vg Frm Walmart in the small bottles. I actually order from CVS. Its pure and has nothing else in it. The previous bottle I had lasted me almost a year. About 11.00 for the bottle.its a pint I think.

Do u guys vape sweet juices? If so what r u using for sweeteners.?
Glad to ttalk with fellow SC 'inians. Lol. I make up words all the time.

We should post recipes I know there's a forum for that but not just for SC.
Hhhmmmm
May be on to something.
Gotta go ttys

Hey Sugismimi,

No sweet juices for me, the VG does a fine job of clogging up my cartos on its own, it needs no help :p. The bottles I get from Wally World are the smallish ones, I guess around 6-8 oz. At $2 a piece or thereabouts, I usually clear the shelf when I remember and it gets me along for a while. Might check CVS for larger quantities since you mentioned it. Thanks for the tip! I've had several people tell me that I should market and sell my Menthol, but have way too many other things going on to do it. Not sure that I'd be willing to share this particular secret recipe quite yet tho....

well you keep your menthol to your self then, lololol!!!
don't do menthol but i have liked a few very lightly menthol'd (?) liquids, not bad really. I've tried making things with menthol crystals, and it's been a messy task.

I make juices for friends and some co-workers, they all want it for free or samples all the time, it sucks, cuz ummmm, i have to pay for the supplies and all my time. I'm talking like 30 cents a ml. seems they would rather pay more at the flea market, well go for it I say, then they have come back and said, i dont have any juice do yo have some to spare--- I ALWAYS SAY YES, but what about your peeps at the flea marky???? huh huh where r they!!!

I haven't seen that dude in awhile, ooopppsssss, musta hit a nerve.

so don't go into biz, it takes the fun out of it. IMO!!!

I'm wondering about the VG comment and clogging up your carto's, I don't think that has happened to me, or at least i don't know it???
what should I look for or expect if that is happening. Ive been using VG only for almost 2 years now.....

Hey Mimi!

You still looking for a VV - throw your hat in here, last day...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/267492-black-satin-provari-give-way.html

DIYer in the midlands - coffees, menthol juices. PG/VG and nic from RTS; best I've found. Then again, I've never tried Walmart's VG

I drip and tank with carto at 70p/30v. No sweeteners, Mimi, but I used to use FA's Marshmallow for sweetening and instead of EM in some juices - menthols included. It seemed to have to have a better depth but you lose that tad of thinning with the PGA in the EM if you're an all out VGer.

Not familiar with Wizard Labs, Canoeist ... have to google and talk to my DIY mentor. :)

Talk soon!
:)

This may be the most active the SC forum has been in a while. Good job canoeist! Not much to add at this point, since I'm so limited on my DIY to one particular flavor that we enjoy. I have a few Loranns flavorings that I've used to make other flavors, but they never set well with me, guess I'm just a menthol smoker forever....

HEY POKEY!!!!!!!

how the hell are ya!!!?????

I've used the marshmellow also as a sweetener, and it does kinda smooth it out, especially if you let it sit for a day or two.

I was PM'ing with another member about TRYING to get a meet on, but you know how it goes, i think you were in on a few of the posts about it, havent heard anymore about it either.

you have a DIY mentor??!!! hmmmmmm. who could that be??!! lolol

hope your doing well and yes I did go ahead and try and less expensive very of a V.V. only have it a few days well 2- and still experimenting. it seems to work pretty good. But time will tell, I will be checking on the link you left about the contest, but ya know it's prolly over now, i may have missed it.

take care pokey!!!

If you have any $ to waste, I have a few suggestions what you can do to make it more constructive, I'll PM you my address and any waste I can take care of for you, I have a knack for that!!! heehee, or so my husband says!!!!

r u here in Lex. County???? beautiful tonite, just go home a lil bit ago, went shopping with my grandson (he's in the picture)
and we just strolled outside a little bit, stars were out, it was nice.

I am a one flavor person too, something similar to malty. But I still try other flavors, saving so much money on the diy I have some to waste :)

Hi Flip,
Was wondering about the clogged carto's using VG, I'm really curios about it because Ive heard that about sweeteners also and I don't think I 've had that problem, but maybe I'm just not noticing it's happening??!!

Have you tried your menthol mix with some fruit flavor's? watermelon and cantaluope are awesome with a lil menthol. so is lemon/lime.

I started out with Lorann's flavorings and they were ok, but I went to TPA's and found that those just had more flavor , and those tiny little square bottles drove me nuts!!!

It's good to see a little movement here in our small little group, glad for it!!!

Yea, I am at the lake down Old Chapin Road for the weekend. It was real nice last night.

About the cartos, mine seem to fall off flavor after 2 days. I have not tried cleaning them in a long time but recently started saving them to try again, guess I need to search for a method. The last batch I bought were just under 80 cents each so it is not a big deal but I guess I should try cleaning again.

Sure, I'll expand a bit. I've been using the Echo dual coil cartomizers for the past few months, which are a bit tougher to clean than some of the other cartos (ce2's namely). I find that within about 10 days at 2ml +- per day, the vapor falls off to the point where I have to get the coils good and hot to get a good vape. I can tell that it's time to rotate the carto out when I can no longer get a full day out of a charged battery (due to the extra puffing required to get the coil hot enough to produce good vapor). I disassemble and clean my cartos when I have 6 or 7 of them ready to be cleaned, and the coil is always coated in a nice thick black crud. To clean them, I take em apart, boil them to loosen the gunk, dry burn them to turn it to ash, boil them again to remove the ash, then clean the fillers and reassemble. No big deal, but many get 3+ weeks out of Echo carts before needing to clean them. Just my observations.
