I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or just got some bad atomizers, but I've had some issues lately. I bought a new joye 510 and it worked great for a day or so, until I put a fresh battery in my silver bullet then all of a sudden every hit tasted burnt. this has never happened before so I figured I got a bad atomizer. I took it back to the store, they looked it over and confirmed it was bad. their policy is they do not do returned on atomizers but they did sell me a new one at cost. then the same thing happened again. I don't know whats happening here. I'm not using it any different and can typically get several charges out of the same one. now I've had two go bad after changing batteries. has anyone else had this issue? is there anything I can do to prevent it?

Most burnt taste issues are a result of too much power for the wicking and/or airflow issues, not bad atomizers.

Then again, some atties have such bad airflow and wicking ability that any amount of power is going to be unvapable. Soysos, fwiw, I always bought my 510s and 306 from LiteCig, and I had relatively few that were bad from the start. Also fwiw, I've moved on to an Evod, which uses Protank heads, and I've had far fewer issues with them than I ever had with atties.

I went from Evods and mini protank 2s to a dripper and I haven't had a dry hit since then. If you don't like drippers you can go to an rba which is basically a dripper with a tank underneath so you aren't dripping. There is a learning curve involved though. I have just received my first and still haven't mastered it.

sometimes you just get a bad one,,,,,,although 2 in a row is pushing it, IMHO.

I love the Iclear 30, and I've probably used about 7 heads so far,,,,,,,and I just had one that no matter what I did, I had a burnt taste,,,,,I finally gave up on it and got a new one and no problems at all,,,,,

one fix might be to remove a flavor wick,,,,,sometimes there's not enough room for the juice to get into the atty if the wicks are crowding that little hole,,,,,I usually remove one flavor wick on each coil of my Iclears.

Direct dripping on 1.3 ohm. I do 7 drops on the first hit then 3 every time after. I've been using these for 7 months now I switched from an mvp to the silver bullet back on October and this is the first time I've had issues.

I do have a rda but it doesn't hit the same, or maybe I just haven't figured it out yet.

Pop one apart and look at the coil with an eye loop or good magnifier. Is the coil crusted over? Does a wash and dry burn restore good flavor? In a Kanger type coil sometimes there's not good contact between the main wick and the flavor wicks. Anything that prevents good juice transfer will give you dry, burnt hits.

The good part about VV and VW is that you can usually improve the flavor with adjustment if needed. In a Mech, you are stuck with how your current atomizer works with the voltage your battery is supplying. "New Battery" and "bad hits" supports this, although it probably shouldn't be happening. If the vendor agrees that the attys are bad, what do they suggest other than some new ones?

I'd pop some 2.0 ohm attys on and see what happens there. That's the standard sweet spot with 3.7v. Maybe the added heat of the 1.3 ohm coil and the juice you are using is killing your attys prematurely. You may just be hitting the crusted coil point coupled with lower juice flow as the battery discharges and the newly charged battery just makes it all start burning.

You didn't say what kind of juice you are vaping. Sugary juice or high VG content can play into contamination and low atty life. Try some juice that's clear and not sweet for a test.

The problem I've seen with stock disposable LR attys a lot is they can drop in resistance in a matter of days. I have a 1.5 ohm Joyetech 306 atty that was great - while it stayed at 1.5 ohms. Once it dropped to 1.39 ohms it tasted harsh unless I dialed all the way back to 3.2 volts or even less than that. It won't be long now before the coil pops. The longest I've ever had any Joyetech LR atty work? Two weeks tops. I won't buy them any more. That great LR experience you get out of them is just too short lived.

Waiting on some LR Ikenvape I06's to show up today and I'm hoping for much better from those. They sure have a better reputation than most disposable attys out there.
