I will be flying from Virginia to California this Sunday and wanted to know if US Airways has a policy against using PV's in flight? I know most would say "just vape in the bathroom", but I'd like to know if there is an actual policy banning PV's in flight or not.

Also, when going through the security checkpoint, you are supposed to have all liquids in a quart sized zip lock baggie, but does this include tanks, cartos, etc...?

While I'm at it.... Anyone know of any vape shops in/near Mountain View, Ca?
Thanks.

All I could find was mention of an internal, unpublished policy forbidding them, but no hard evidence for that airline either way. I don't fly often and haven't flown US Airways since I started vaping

As for the checkpoint, I had no trouble with my cartos not being in the liquid baggie. No idea on tanks, but I have heard of people having no issues. Might be best to stick them in the bag just while going through the checkpoint just to be on the safe side, anyway. You never know which TSA agents are going to be hard-asses and which aren't :2c:

I actually flew to Vegas a couple weeks ago on US Air. First FAA regulations prohibit Li-Ion batteries in checked luggage so carry them on. I usually carry on an ego or two and leave my beloved mods in the checked luggage. Most TSA employees know what an ego is. I just threw my two 6ml and one 3ml bottle of juice in the bin. No problems.

On the plane. There's no FAA regulation against vaping. However, it is against most airlines policy. They don't really care as long as you're halfway discrete. How much do they not care? I had a pilot deadheading next to me on the way out. Before he sat down, I pointed at my ego and said, "You can't sit there. I won't be able to sneak hits off of this." He took a second to realize what it was and said, "No problem. I'll be sleeping the whole time." I did what I usually do and he was right, it wasn't a problem. Just hold vapor in for a bit so you don't make clouds and don't be blatant.

Well, I made it through the checkpoint with only one slight hiccup. The TSA agent running the scanner apparently has never seen cartos before. Apparently they look like gun shells. But another agent explained that the "little crayon things" were for an e-cig. I did however have another agent ask me about them. Her boyfriend is trying to quit and she was interested in the cost of a PV setup. I wish I would have had more time, and I would have told her about the ECF. I think I'm going to make up my own e-cig business card with the link to ECF and some supplier sites I have had good service from.
