What are you charging?

I use them. BUT I had to be careful. I have three 4-port hubs. I use 4-port because I couldn't find a power source big enough to handle charging more batteries. You have to check the specs and know how much your wall charger will deliver and how much your usb charger will draw.

For example, one hub I have has a 1amp wall charger. I have two ego rapid Chargers and a joy510 charger. Total draw when they're all charging is 1050mah. Occasionally, they will all charge at the same time. Then other times the 510 won't charge until one of the ego's is close to done.

I also have the same setup and charge 3 808d-1's and a pcc at the same time. The total draw is about 750ma. Speed of charge is the same. No problem.

You also have to check the rating of the hub. Some won't pass more than 500ma total. Then there's the cable. Some of the cables were inferior. Some wouldn't work with 1 amp. All worked with 500ma
