This is my newest mod, a bit mainstream by current standards :), a usb manual switch for the penstyle atomizer. I decided that I needed usb power more than a large battery for the time being. Both would be nice though and I was planning on getting one of those rechargeable usb battery packs. Being in NZ, though, the choice locally is a bit limited and the one I have seen is only able to supply 700mA. Do you think this will be up to powering the atomizer?

The other thing i'd like to do is replace my push button switches with a subtler microswitch. Again, choice is a bit limited but the one i've found has the following spec: Rating: 35VDC 10mA, Mounting: PCB, Pin Size: 0.88 Square, Pin Spacing: On 5mm Square, Cut Out: 8mm Square.

I assume the 10mA rating means i'll have to protect it in some way, so can anyone point me at a wiring diagram? I'm sure I saw one on here a few weeks back but i'm at a loss to find it now .

Any help appreciated.

You Need 5 Volts with 1000 mAH Output (700 a little to low, I had it working at that but going up is were the vape's at) to Start, more would be better for a battery pack, check Ebay for it.

Nice looking Pipe, Do U Have More Pics? Please Post If You Do. I am Wondering what the used here for the housing???

I wire looks very heavy, is it very soft & pliable? cuz sometimes the thicker USB cords are solid wire and need the extra thickness, but will break inside it bending too much..

Hey Cellmeister, thanks for the info. I suspected that 700mA was a bit on the low side. I'll hang out till I can find something with a bit more oomph. I was hoping to pick up something here in NZ but looks like i'll have to order from the States to get what I want.

For more pics page 15 of Madogs Magnum post #149 and #150 (must post more, i'm at my limit for uploading images :(). It's one of the regular torch mods, but one where the top lamp unit unscrews.

Pipe started off as a standard Madog Magnum but with the atomizer fixed to the side, I found it more comfortable to hold that way, but with my Dura batteries failing I figured I needed a usb option quickly.

You're right about the cable, it's too short and not very pliable. Just the first one that came to hand though. Now that i'm happy that the mod is working i'll change it out for a longer one.

Impressed with your Mini-Stick, I've already sourced all the bits to make mine aprt from the 14500 batteries, which again are not easily available here :grr: That was the reason for the microswitch question, thought i'd try and make this one a bit more flash. I was thinking about building in the circuit board from a Janty mini usb charger too with a mini usb socket on the case. Could be the ultimate e-cig :).

Hi davidinwellington

Ya all great idea's, I already had started the mini-USB Female port for optional charging / USB Pass Through. The batteries last me 5 to 8 hours cuz I usually have around 5 E-Cigs going to avoid over heating the atomizers, so the atomizer life will be a lot longer too save some $$$ for other mods.

The Batteries for The Mini-Stick are 3.7 Volt rated 500 mah (ya right, all ratings are wrong) and The Battery # 10440 AAA Size...

Also you can make a USB Cable with 22G or 24 G Stranded 2 wire cord (its cheap) but there is a wide variety of them, I looked to touch & bend them 1st to test, also a mouse wires are very good too, which you can get the cheapest mouse you can find that has thin wire, these are usually stranded wire due to the movement!

Keep Up The Great Mods & Keep Posting!!!
