USB Passthrough Overheating Atomiser

I just received the passthrough and plugged it into my laptop attaching the pv (Kissbox). The atomiser got so very hot. I immediately unplugged the pv; it took a couple of minutes for the atomiser to cool down enough to handle. What is going on? Any suggestion/help is greatly appreciated.

In my experience, the best hit from an e-cig comes from a high mAh rating; wehther it comes from an external battery source or a USB port. A high current to the atomizer will cause it to get extremely hot. This is why a maddog 901 Magnum powered mod is so awesomw. You whould be thrilled with what you described. Thast said, this evening I tested my KB passthough with the USB port of my laptop and my Kensington portable power pack. The power pack blew away the USB port of the PC. Better vaper all the way. Why? Higer current - mAh rating of 1.0+ Vs. 350(ish)mAh from the USB port.

Draw less often and enjoy the better vaper volume and throat hit!!

i think you have to use a manual switch with KB passthroughs, otherwise it's always on.

anybody KB/passthrough owners out there?

Thank you for your replies. I am using the manual switch. I only drew on the pv once and it seemed as if the atomiser was overheating. I do not want to burn the atomiser out. Even after the USB cable was disconnected the atomiser kept heating and smoking. Hope this is clear and I apologize if this is redundant.

Continuing to heat after it was disconnedted is not possible. I am not an electrnics expert, but what you are describing might indicate a faulty pass-through. I would constact Janty, or the dealer you bought it from, and ask for a replacement.

sorry for the misunderstanding whistlingangel.
someone posted here recently and if i remember right, was using a kb passthrough without the manual switch.

if the atomizer continued to heat up after you disconnected it i would suspect the switch is stuck closed. kb passthroughs have an inline battery, correct?

Yes Candy and my hubby is an electronic expert. As he explained the battery probably caused it to continue heating after it was disconnected from laptop. I think you are right with the assumption that the switch may be stuck. Thank you for your input.

Remember too, that those passthroughs with the inline battery are actually powered by the inline battery not the USB. The USB acts as a charger for the battery.

Make sure you keep plenty of juice on that atomizer so it doesn't burn up. Don't drown it but don't let it fry to a crisp
