usb passthrough plugged into wall charger

i plugged my passthru into a usb wall charger and every time i go to draw the batt just flashes 3 times. the output is 5.0v and 1000mA so i don't know what the deal is

then it's most likely that charger. i tried 3 different brands all with the same rating until i found one that worked.

Then the wall charger is meant to charge batteries only. Not power devices instead of a battery.

there are different types. the one i have (that works) is supposed to power an ipod deck of some sort. 2 USB outlets. it works fine.

The USB Wall Adapter is Defective (low output from overuse or just cheap internals) and/ or Over Rated (False Ratings For Marketing Purposes, Yes This Is Frequent Issue, They Write Anything On Them for Ratings but Not the Actual Output...).

You may test or find you can power or charge your MP3 Player (except Zune, Zune requires 1.5 mA) to see it works.

I have one that works and one that doesn't. Nothing printed on either unit gives me a clue why this is.

Flashes 3 times is usually lack of power, an iPod charger is an ideal powersupply for the USB passthrough, great throat hit and no fruity MP3 players in sight! It gives out 1 amp.

The very tiny USB charger that comes with my iPhone 3g works great on a 901 USB passthrough. I found an identical charger online for $3.95 shipped. If anyone would like the link just PM me and I'll send it along - looks like I can't post a URL until I get 15 posts. Time to get busy!

most of these things are designed to charge small battery powered gizmos.. they look for the battery to charge..

they are not desigend to directly power the device that is plugged into them.. simply charge its battery..

a PC USB connection is designed to directly power things..

this is not about output its about things being used for a purpose they are not designed for..

houdini keeps saying it so do i.. but it keeps getting ignored..

a USB powered hub will power an e cig.. something designed to recharge mp3 players and the likes often will not..

The usb wall charger that came with my APC battery outputs 2 amps, and is perfect for my penstyle and 901 passthroughs. I have yet to find another one that works as good. Good thing I bought 4.
