I have tried two usb passthroughs and both were terrible. A 3.7 battery literally put them to shame! I am using them with an AC adapter that supplies 2 amps. I got one from madvapes and I was surprised that it didn't work well because I've had great luck with them.

I am thinking about ordering this:

Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Mini Kit, USB Passthru and cartos

Anyone tried it? Any other recommendations? I can't afford to waste any more $$ :(

I've never tried a "regular" passthru. I've always used the eGo Passthrus that you can also unplug and use as a regular pv. I love them. You can get them in the regular sized battery 650 mAh or a 1000 mAh battery.

Liberty Flights sells the regular, Cignot sells both.

Yeah, I've got one of those too. Unfortunately, it died and I'm waiting for the replacement. I'd still like to have the regular for home use and leave the other at work. I'm thinking about building one myself now....

My first PT was a 510 with the inline battery. I wasn't really impressed. I then got a couple of 808s from HG and they were great but did not last but about a month each. The wire breaks at the tip. I tried a couple of the 801s from HG and the same thing. When they go out if you wiggle the wire they will work intermittently. I had been using the usb cables to make my own box mods for 5V PTs. They last forever but I like the fact that the aforementioned PTs are regulated to 3.7 volts but at a higher amperage. The 808 PT from HG has a molded connector at the wire end that can be wiggled and removed. I re-soldered the wire on one a couple of months ago and it is still good. The 801 has an led light and I haven't been able to remove it without destroying the PT. I broke out the old 510 and it may be just better atties but I really like it now.

So it seems my experience is somewhat common. Looks like the answer is spend more money on one built like a tank or build it yourself. Don't know why I didn't think of building one before, pretty simple really.

I've gotta say that my Ego PT from Liberty Flights is one of the best things I've ever had. Unplug and go anywhere. And, it's a bigger battery than the normal Ego.

I have the 650mah version and love it. Use it at work mostly (so sweet to be able to vape at my desk!).

The 5V PT from madvapes ROCKS.. 17.99 you can not beat it. HIGHLY recommend for the money. Just be sure to get the 2 amp adapter to go with it,only like 8.95, same for car adapter, I thought I could use my regular adaptors for my egos as the said 5v,nope..

You made go back and search my email. Turns out I didn't get mine from madvapes after all. Now I feel like crap for saying I did. I love those guys and don't want to throw any negativity their way at all. I'll be ordering some parts from them soon so maybe I'll throw a PT on the order..
