I could never get an atomizer to last for more than a few days before they clogged, even though I drained them every night and cleaned them with alcohol. I've noticed that since I built my little USB power adapter, that the lifespan of my atomizers has gone from days to weeks. As an added benefit, the throat hit is much more satisfying and the push button activator gives me more and better control. I chalk it up to that extra volt or two. Not sure why I posted this. Just for input or similar experiences, I guess.

i guess you don't use any resistor to lower the voltage.
so the higher voltage burns also the residue.
but it could also burn up the atomizer earlier...
be careful not to puff the atomizer too hot or too dry

yep, I've been using the same atomizer since Nov. 17. I usually get about a week or two before they peter out. You might be right about the higher voltage burning residue. But the atomizer seems to be hanging in there just fine.

Indeed. Before they lasted a few days, then clogged. Now they last a couple of months and burn out. I'll take that trade off.
