I bought a used Reo Mini 2, it's AMAZING, and I have a rba 2.0 hooked up as well. I'm vaping NLV Gold.

Here's my question/dilemma... There's some flavor ghosting going on, a floral flavor, that it rather strong (seeing as how Gold is pretty strong itself). The Reo was cleaned out superbly before being shipped to me, as was the RM. I think the fruity/floral flavor used by the previous owner was just very strong, and it left a bit of ghost flavor somewhere. I'm about to switch out the tube and squeeze bottle for newer ones, but I was very curious as to how all of you go about deep cleaning the bottle-to-510 stem between flavors?

I am assuming that is the issue. I'm thinking a rubbing alcohol soak? I have run warm water through it and it did not do much to help. How do you all force alcohol up and down the inner stem?

All help and comments are much appreciated!

Thanks Reonauts!

Welcome, ZenSilk :)
All of the suggestions so far are spot on. The o-ring inside the bottle cap is well known for lingering flavors....a soak in alcohol or quick boil in water can take care of that usually. Others have found lemon juice or vinegar to be helpful though I've never used those myself.

For myself, I've not had much of an issue with flavor switching. I vape a lot of similar or complimentary flavors so if they blend, it doesn't bother me. the blended flavors typically only last for a few vapes before I'm on to the new flavor. I don't try too terribly hard to keep the flavors separate, but when switching I do the following. Empty the bottle of juice (you could just as easily use a new bottle). Blow the remaining juice out of the tube from the top of the mod, catching in a paper towel. For mechanicals, you can just run water through it. For the VV, use a syringe so you don't accidentally get the electronics wet. And then a quick rinse and dry burn of my RM2.

Keep us posted! :)

Wanted to touch base.

Alcohol soak, water and soap cleaning, water soak, alcohol squonked through the bottle into the RM2... all have been in vain.

And I have decided that the ghosting flavor is most definitely soapy, if not literally soap. I figured a hot water soak would clear this up... it did not.

I have not been able to get the ceramic base out at all. Do the posts themselves unscrew from the RM2, not just the screws?

The hotter the coils get, and the smaller amount of juice in the wick, the soapier tasting the vape. I'm going to switch wicks and try a cotton candle wick. I have been using sterile cotton balls. They wick fantastically, vape perfectly, but this soapy taste will not go away. It also, oddly enough, has not gotten any weaker.

I'm leaning towards the cotton being the issues, but can't quite understand why this would be the case...

Did you ever pull your bottle cap oring out yet and clean it and the lid ?

Yes I did, but I also ended up using a different brand new bottle.

After a rubbing alcohol soak and being completely disassembled I can safely say the soap flavor is not apparent any longer. I'm a little wary that it may come back, but it's been clean and cloudy and delicious so far.

Thanks all you Reonauts for all your amazing advice!!
