Using Atomic RDA with Provari mini

Let the rambling begin...
So basically im pretty new to vaping, i use and infinity tank with my provari mini and i am about sick and tired of cartomizer and want to move on to bigger and better things/clouds.
I was told by my local shop that i could have to get a mechanical mod to use a rda or RBA (im not sure what they are called) because if i didn't it would has a chance to ruin my Provari for some reason... i don't know if this is a sale tactic or if this is something to truly be concerned about.
So long story short i'm wondering if i will be able to use a RDA/RBA (w/e that means) on my provari mini, or if i should invest in a mechanical mod....cause the last thing i want to do is ruin my provari, secondly im wondering if my provari will produce large clouds or if thats only with a mechanical mods.
The RDA i was interested in purchasing is was the The Atomic RDA by MCV Philippines (ROUND 5 IN STOCK: THE ATOMIC RDA by MCV PHILIPPINES | VAPEHAPPY) and wondering if this is a top of the line RDA to get...

Sorry for all the questions! and thanks in advance!

ProVari will fire down to 1.3 ohms I believe, under that and the built in protection will read it as a short and not allow it to fire. Mechs have no built in protection and will fire sub ohms.

RBA is a rebuildable atomizer, like the AGA T, they have a tank. RDA is a rebuildable dripping atomizer, they don't have tanks, you drip into them. Both are very rewarding, but there is a learning curve. You should be able to use either one with a ProVari.

BS sales tactic. I don't own a provari, but I don't own a mechanical either. I use RBAs more than my carto tanks...Keep your resistance in between 1.2-~3ohms and you'll be fine..it won't screw up the provari, but if you build a coil at 1ohm, you could get a resistance drop into the 0.9ohm cutoff. A provari will give you the ability to experiment with a wide range of resistances.

Check out assorted pv topics> rebuildable atomizer forum.

That atomizer is a good dripper. The fact the type of metal used is listed is a huge plus.

You know I have a Provari and couple of both RBA's and RDA's, yet I have never tried to find the cutoff of the ProVari. Thanks for the information. I read 1.3 somewhere on ECF, and it just stuck. My coils usually run around 1.8 to 2.4 ohms.

It varies, depending on the wire, depending on the voltage, several factors. I've heard of them running .8, mine doesn't like anything below.9, but I normally run 1.2-1.8.
I still don't know where, how or why this BS myth got started! If you want to run stupid low ohms, yes, you need a mechanical, keep it in the realm of responsibility, and all is fine on a VV or VW. I think the DNA mods will go down to .8 or .6 even.
It's funny how many ZAP's have been sold considering it's a genesis style RBA built specifically for the Provari! I'm using one right now in fact!

DNA mods will go down to 0.8or0.6ohm related/vw, anything below that, it will function as a mechanical. What I've read anyways, don't own one..

The mvp is also said to go down to 0.9, but I've put a 0.8ohm piece of wire just to fire and measure. It actually has the voltage around 2.8 with that 0.8ohm wire..regardless what you set it at. I don't know if the provari does that or not. It's all based on the short circuit cutoff.

Your in good hands with the Provari. You don't need a mechanical mod unless you plan on sub-ohming (resistance<1 Ohm.)

All sub-ohming allows for is vaping at higher wattages (power), higher than what your Provari Mini can handle (this is not a bad thing-Provari or any other VV mod has built in safety measures.) It provides more vapor and often better flavor.

Anyhow, you can run any RDA/RBA as long as it has a 510 connection and the resistance is within the operating parameters of your Provari, something to always be familiar with.

As far as the Atomic RDA, its arguably the best if not one of the best RDA's currently available. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for any other.

Hope this helps & welcome to the forums!

So glad you got the info you needed. ECF is truly a wonderful group of people - they helped me in my journey to quit smoking and I will never forget them for it.

Remember with a mechanical mod, the reasons for purchase are

1) ability to sub ohm
2) beauty/grace
3) long lasting (no wires or digital parts to break)

As others here have correctly advised, so long as you build coils with resistances over one ohm, you are fine with your Provari as long as you don't mind it's aesthetic appearance. (And it will let you know if you goofed up and went too low.) I do recommend that later in your vaping evolution, you invest in a good mechanical and a reliable ohmmeter AS WELL, but for now, you are good to go with what you have. Happy vaping!
