It's clear that a higher voltage is required when using the bottom dual coil setups such as the PT3, but in your opinion, how high is too high? Looking for some input and discussion

No; bottom coils do not require higher voltage.

For regular commercial stock coils which are typically 30ish guage kanthal around 2 ohms, rule of thumb is 5 watts per coil;
that means 5 watts for normal single coils; and 10 watts total for the coils that come with the pt3 an aerotank.

Seems you can also go lower watts for higher vg; higher watts for higher pg.

I find myself vaping at 3 watts on my high vg liquid; rich creamier taste, cool vape, tank doesnt get hot while chainvaping.

I'm here, when I'm here
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, from what I understand, BDC that are say 1.8 ohms, for example, theoretically 3.6 ohms total. Basically double what the coil says it is. At 3.6 ohms, I set me MVP on 4.5v and get a good vape. Plenty of flavor and vapor.

Hope this helps.

Try that with an iClear 30S and I can assure you that you'll end up with a very burnt tasting clearo. 2.1 ohm coils and it's going to taste very burnt by 8 watts.

You've got that backwards.

In a 1.8 ohm BDC could you have two coils that are 3.6 ohms each and wattage is split between them.

Hi 1creamman.... i am currently running an Aspire bdc 2ohm at 5.3v on my mod... which is an okr t6(buck) chip device... i can not run voltages this high on any of my booster chip mods with the 33hz chips(sigelei zmax or lavatube)those two really dont run well on this tank much higher than about 4.8.... I make my own liquids and they are all 85%vg.... at this point i do find i have to take harder pulls on the tank to keep the coils fed correctly...
