This is to clear a path for me, to let them know to get out of my way, and also so that I don't have to smell too much tobacco stink when walking by those people, as they are standing there and puffing on their cigs. I have found that this method works well!

I have found that ex smokers who psychologically beat up on present smokers eventually learn some humility.

Unfortunately, they usually hafta learn "the hard way." ;)

when I see a group of smokers, I wave and say hello. Maybe I'll stop and shoot the breeze with em. Cracks me up that some people can buy a mod and some juice and somehow, miraculously, become far superior to the person they were yesterday. Maybe there's so much negative press about vaping because so many vapers instantly become snobby, judgmental .... rashes.

A little over the top but I agree.

The smell of smoke is starting to gross me out but I don't like people making a life change and getting all preachy. Smoking, booze, religion, diet, etc.

I smoked for 30 years and have only quit for almost 2 months.... the thought of ME preaching to smokers that they stink and are killing themselves is just idiotic.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I had a friend, who while shepherding my little piranha-fish and me through a thick crowd at Expo '86 would shout "Aids!" at the top of his lungs and the crowd would part and allow us forward, at least to the limit of his bellicose utterance’s effectiveness. He repeated this many, many times and we got through the steaming hoards right smartly. I was quite embarrassed by this at the time and still am, but in an uncomfortable way I was kinda grateful for it... This conversation reminded me of that strange and frankly unacceptable episode in my past. But you know, humans can be such silly creatures when they want something.

I'm not preachy at all, and if any smoker that sees me vaping wants to stop me and ask questions about it, I am more than happy to oblige them. But I also hate the smell of cigarette smoke now, and I am doing them absolutely no harm at all by surrounding my own olfactory equipment with something that smells a lot better. As mentioned, my 86% PG and 9 watts are NEVER going to make even medium-sized clouds, but they can certainly insulate ME from a horrible odor.

Just because I am NOT holier-than-thou doesn't mean that I have to let their stink invade MY nose.

I'm around smokers every day. Some of them are my friends. Yes, I'm more sensitive to the smell now, because I got that sensitivity back when I quit smoking. I vape with them when they smoke. Every day, I'm just proof to them that vaping works as a tobacco cessation method. Getting snarky with them will prove nothing - other than that I'm an a__hole.

Right next door to my building, there is a small bar that always has many patrons standing outside in the cold smoking cigs. I always have to pass this crowd when walking into my building.

I'm not a cloud chaser, and I don't sub ohm, but I am capable of producing some ok sized clouds if I need to, and lately I have taken to walking by the smokers that stand outside that bar, and just as I am walking by, I blow out a huge cloud of vapor, much bigger than all of their cig smoke clouds combined.

This is to clear a path for me, to let them know to get out of my way, and also so that I don't have to smell too much tobacco stink when walking by those people, as they are standing there and puffing on their cigs. I have found that this method works well!

We need to remember (most of us) used to be those people stuck outside of the store taking a few pulls before having to go back in to work or to shop with the wife.

If we start demoralizing smokers for doing exactly what we did years ago how are we any better than the ANTZ that run around criticizing us now for vaping? If I have time instead of just running from them like the plague I sit down next to them and maybe start a conversation, your PV is a guaranteed conversation starter and you might even change their lives forever.

We're not. But insulating ourselves from a bad odor is not demoralizing anyone. Now, if I walked thru them waving my arms around and hollering about the stink, that would be rude, offensive, and demoralizing. But taking a good hit to be exhaling as I walk thru the odor does nothing to them, but protects ME.

I smoked for 23 years a few minutes of inhaling their smoke won't kill me at this point the damage is done, I can only minimize it, however having them spend a few minutes chatting with me might change their views on smoking and more importantly vaping, not all smokers are douche bags some are some actually proactively look for ways to quit just never find the right way. You never know who you're standing next to.

True, but I'm not going to start preaching about vaping to someone who hasn't asked me about it. That would be a lot ruder than just insulating my own nose from the smell of cigarette smoke. In my case, it actually might harm me, since I have a few times smelled it and thought it smelled good -- if I think it smells good enough, I might break down and smoke, myself, and that would definitely be harmful. If they see me vaping, they're free to ask -- but I won't approach them first.

I am not rude, and I am also not a martyr -- I will not subject my nose to that smell willingly, if I can avoid it.

now and then when I've smelled a freshly-lit one, it smelled good...

Which is exactly why I always avoided designated smoking areas for about the first year of vaping ...

Now it doesn't bother me so much, certainly far less than excessive applications of cologne or perfume, or questionable hygiene ... :?:

And as always, I exercise my right to be elsewhere whenever possible ... :D

If I want to clear people out of the way..... .... burp

You can kill a person by doing that , i just say "pardon me coming through" and if that doesn't work i physically grab them and throw them out of my way , both work.

I have zero tolerance for people clogging my path and although docile and non violent in nature i will kick serious a_ _ if warranted.
