So I've found that I am walking around everywhere with my new, and modified:p ecig. I don't seem to be getting any nicotine rush out of it, yet I am puffing away like crazy and can't really bring myself to stop. I've only been using it for a couple of days and feel like it's getting a bit out of control. Also my nose has started running a lot more, anyone else get this?

I don't get any nic rush either. It's not like smoking a cigarette. Did you read Dr. Laugesen's letter in the Banned in Australia thread? He estimates we get one-ninth the nicotine in a puff of vapor that we get from a cigarette puff. That means you have to puff these nine times as much to get the same blood nicotine level. That's almost impossible.

The problem is that liquid strong enough to provide a cigarette-like kick would be incredibly strong poison. Not likely to be allowed.

I use mine non-stop, along with snus and dissolvable tobacco pieces.

Lucky you! I used to order from Northerner.com. A can was $2 something and shipping used to be 15$ and it was 2 days to California! Now the cans have gone up, shipping has gone up, and customs nabbed too many of my packages. I tried the new camel snus and it just isn't the same at all. One day I'll rework the courage to order again, just not yet.

Wow, never knew that. I thought I was OD'ing myself with nicotine. I guess this explains the constant use of e-cigs especially for those that have quit analogs.

Maybe I have a lower dependency on nic but on 18mg juice around 10 good drags and I feel a little light headed. For the 1st week or so it was non stop 14mg. Not a lot of difference I know but I don't vape as much as I did in that 1st week.

I had a cold when I started vaping and was bunged up pretty bad but now that has cleared up and I do get bouts of runniness.

I think my nasal passage is just having a reaction to the drying effect of the PG.

I think you're correct on this. PG is a humectant. If you inhale or exhale through your nose, you are coating your nasal passages with PG. Depending on environmental humidity levels in your area at the time, you will either experience wetness or dryness where the PG has come to rest. Your nose runs -- or stuffs up.

No big deal.

So I guess you're not as worried about it as you were?

What nicotine level are you using?
I found when I was switching from cigarettes to pipe I would have to go extremely high in nicotine levels and smoke constantly to keep from having a cigarette.
From some of the threads I've read I get the idea that vapor is more like pipe smoke than cigarette smoke.

I figured that pipe/vapor is hitting slower so you need the increased dose to make up the difference.

Don't get me wrong, I am still worried. A little more so since I can't put the thing down.

I am currently switching between medium and high. With high I feel really funky after two puffs so I have to let it sit for a while. It's not like the nicotine rush of a cigarette. It's something a little more and a lot different. Can't seem to find the words to describe it.

Man, I know what you mean. I sometimes use the 36mg, and the "hit" is not like a cig at all. It's way more heart-thumping and even slight nausea. It feels more "pharma" than tobacco did for me.

Staying with 18mg has made it much less noticeable. I too can't seem to put it down though. I have to keep it in the next room and take "smoke breaks". When it's in hand, it's used...

I have not been able to receive a good nic-hit on anything less than 24mg, that's the minimum strength where I really feel like it's on par with analogs.

8mg is way, way too weak and will never satisfy if trying to get that good hit. IMO something that mild is only recommended if you're trying to actually wean yourself off nicotine.

Even 18mg doesn't seem quite enough after regular use.

Well after a bit more research I dont' plan on upping the nicotine content of my eliquid. I just feel it's far to dangerous keeping that much nicotine anywhere near me. I don't mean to sound like a pain in the bum but I think we as responsible users need to more or less demand proper regulation from the suppliers concerning the sale of these products. It seems way too simple for young folk with credit cards and people up to no good to get their hands on a super concentrated supply of great tasting poison. I know I am being a little paranoid but that is probably going to be the main argument of people trying to ban this once it becomes more mainstream.

I wouldn't take the doctor's findings as gospel, he keeps changing what he's saying and doesn't reflect real life experience. He also says that a cartridge should last a day to four.

The reason you don't get a tobacco-like hit is because you are not getting the same chemicals, it isn't to do with nicotine.

There are much easier and more readily available means of poison.
Look at how many people mix ammonia and chlorine cleaning products together. I even got gassed out by mopping up dog urine with bleach once.

Those people may use it as their argument but eventually (or hopefully) people will start to realize it's not tobacco or nicotine they're against rather freedom.
Notice that nobody is making moves against patches even though plenty have been poisoned by them.
