I only have two tanks right now which has been fine for a while but I want to switch flavors in one of 'em but the punched carto that's in the tank now will still have juice in it and should last a little while. So can I just vape on it without it being in the tank?
Any of you ever punched what you thought would be enough holes in a carto and then when you got it in a full tank, realize that another hole is needed? Can you pull out that carto and pop another hole in it and put it back in?

Yes. I've used my mixing syringe to draw out the liquid from the tank, so as to not sacrifice it. I removed the carto. I made the DCT replacement carto holes larger with a Dremel tapered grinding bit and put it all back together.

The placement of the holes makes it less than neccessary to worry about the metal shavings, as the shavings won't go beyond the filler and it's just stainless steel anyway. Less than any chance of inhaling the shavings, and they won't contaminate the nicquid, because of the material. Punching the holes is less cause for consideration about the shavings, tho!

As far as changing the flavor, yes you can vape a previously "tanked" carto, but you'll never get all the nicquid vaped without burning the filler. Then, the carto's tank-ability is compromised (will probably leak), and the flavor would most certainly be altered. I have changed flavors with tha same carto in the tank, but the flavor was complimentary and gave some diversity to the new one. If you want the full flavor of a new nicquid with a tank, though, it's neccessary to swap a new carto in.
