I appologize if I came off having an attitude, myself. (Hey, my user name is Baditude after all) :p
We're all trying to look out for each other right?

I personally don't believe sanding those black-painted cartos would be worth the effort, but to each his own. ;)

I have personally used those single coil Smokteks before, but with the 510 thread. They are an excellent carto. Another brand carto that I highly recommend with an 808 thread are these Ikenvapes. They aren't prepunched, though.

Have you found a tank then? Not sure I've seen too many 808 tanks.
You can put any 510 or 808 carto into any cartotank, the carto diameters are the same. You can get a cheap empty polypropylene-tubed tank here:

Pro DCTank Tube

Unless you want your device to look extremely top-heavy, choose the slimmer 3.5ml size tank, and be sure to use the longer 45mm XL size cartomizers with it.

Nah I haven't found any tanks myself. I contacted IBTanked to see if they could make me a tank. Hopefully they can or at least I can get me a pyrex tube at and just use my syringe plungers as end caps.

I will be making my tank out of 2 20ml syringes. You use the plungers as end caps and you cut the syringe for the tank part. Search on YouTube for syringe tank mod.

I like flanged cartos for tanks. You get a little more protection from "slide down". I don't really want my tank down next to the threads.

The only tanks I've used so far have been Smoktech DCT and the Smoktech LR are really good cartos that last and last.

Lately, I've been using some new cartos from Stormy's Vapor Cellar. These were designed to their specs by a manufacturer. What I've found is that they perform just like the Boges when Boges were really good. I liked the first box so much that I ordered 4 more boxes after trying 3 from the first box. They are still producing good vapor and flavor. They are $7 for a box of 5 and sometimes on sale for $6. They come packed in a foil backed bubble pack.

I don't have an attitude. I'm just replying.
I am taking advice and all but there is different suggestions here and there. So I can't do what everyone says.
Besides it is my choice to take the advice or not. No one should get mad if I don't. I sure wouldn't get mad if someone didn't take my advice...they have free will so it's up to them.
You really need to relax some of these statements like the cartos have lead paint are just assumtions or theories (no offence batitude). I really don't think US Customs would allow something painted with lead that it put up to your mouth to be be imported.
Besides there is some over spray on the inside of the carto housing and I haven't seen it dissolvong and I'm sure if I took a blood lead level test I would be fine although that is just an assumption of my own :p:

I am going to order some stainless steel ones like I said as soon as I find them but for now I am gonna remove the paint off of one and use a solvent tto get the residue off.
So I am taking people's advice.

Please stay on topic and whatnot. Trust me a am a chill guy and I do not mean to seem like I have an attitude at all.
So let's just all sit back, vape and get along :)

eerrrrrrrrrrk!!!!!! beep beeep beep back the truck up here a second!
was gonna stay out of this one till i saw this one line in here. just for clarification the USDA has no standards regarding the consumption or usage of lead based products for adults.
all the lead scare crap is only for children because lead exposure causes problems with brain development in the little ones.
as far as someone 18 and older there is no safety standard in place.
this has been a public service announcement - please resume your normal thread activities.

I'd forgotten 808's will fit 510 tanks. But hey, I remember someone having problems with the rubber taste leaching from the plungers into their juice so be careful there.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I'm mobile s it would take me forever to reply individually.
So I will just write a reply and I'm sure you know which part is yours :p

    Baditude it's all good man.

I didn't know the DCT tanks can be used on 808s as well :O
I thought 510 cartos are fatter than 808s.
I wish I would have known that when I ordered all my stuff lol

I will have to get me a DCT tank or I might just get me a tank from IBTanked if it is true you can use those 510 carto tanks with 808s.

I had already had the carto flange in mind and I was just gonna put a hot glue ring around it to prevent sliding.

I just went and got all the supplies for this and it would up being $26. I might as well just return this stuff and just order the cartos but I want my tank now LOL
Also is this rubber taste leeching into the juice from the plungers is true then I kinda wanna bail on this idea.

Thanks again for all the help guys

I saw you mentioned these before and I'm very interested. I actually have about 25 cartos right now but my next batch will be these after I try One.I will wait because my smokteks this time around are being easy and nice.i read the write up and I'm sure we have to punch our own. It kind of sounds like one hole will be plenty when punched v/s drilled and the looser filling they describe. Soooo. In the LR how many holes do YOU punch? Stanard resistance same? Are they big 'ole holes or? I haven't punched berore I got a hole puncher for these when I but them. Sound pretty nice. Lmk

I have to speak up about a quality tank. I was gonna refill!!!!!! my Phiniac and when I pushed it down with a slap yo momma adaptor, the tank had such a tight grip on the carto I wound up taking out the inner "O" ring. The IB Tanks hold just as good. Look for PBusaros's revies of the Phiniac tanks. Both vendors are really amazing. The IB Tanks are extremely cost effecient. (that's why I got 6 of them) And look good to.

Ok i reread the OP's post. If you really want to take the chance of lead poisening. Have a good time. I've had it and trust someone that went through it. IT'S NOT FUN. Took over a week to be able to sleep from the nightmares it causes. But then what do I know. Well I know I don't want the lead anymore. To each their own. If it's ok for adults, then just call me a child. I won't chance it EVER again. :2c:

Not Kanger, but just as good of a carto. If you just have to have dual coils, they're $ .50 more.
Smoketek 808 threaded XL length cartos with prepunched holes for $2.00 each. 808 Tank Cartomizers

Thanks again for the link, I'm finally home and got to check it out.
Looks good and with the tank it is still cheaper than the supplies I got to make my own tank.

I think I'm about to scrap the idea of doing the carto tank though. The more I think about it the more I don't think it is worth it in the long run.
I was gonna do it cause I have all the supplies already but now that the cartos have no sticker that can be removed and I'll have to buy more and get a tank since someoen said the plunger can leach into the juice and cause it to taste bad. Well the plan is falling to pieces and is gonna cost more than it's worth.
At this point I might as well get a knock off mini nova and an adapter lol.
I think I just need to save my money and get me either a variable voltage Vision Spinner and a tank I can rebuld or just wait for the Joye Evic to come down a bit or go on sale and get it cheaper. I wish there was an 18650 battery option for it.

I am gonna think this over. These XL cartos I have have lasted all day fo rme and I haven't had to refill so maybe a tank would be overkill.

I'm spending too much money on this stuff xD

Thanks for all your help though eveyone
