Up until yesterday I hadn't tried using the any of my X2s in pseudo Pass-through mode. Having 3 of the monsters I have never been without a charged one, I say pseudo merely because a true Pass-through (so I've been told) has no batteries and is completely reliant on household or otherwise a separate power supply. What I found was the X2 1300 that I used for the test had been used for the better part of 2 days and I figured this would best represent the conditions one would use this feature. To my surprise boy oh boy did it make a more than noticeable difference. At first I thought it may have been the juice (SI Cowboy) so I went through all of my 6 favorite juices which are all in new X2 Clearomizers and concluded that it truly was a big difference no matter the juice. I guess to some extent this makes perfect sense because I am using the recommended 1.5 amp charger from SI and the power is suitable for both vaping and Charging at the same time so one could conclude it must have more overall power than the X2 has even fully charged. Why you ask do I bother to point out the obvious? Well I didn't really give it much thought until yesterday but I will say it has made me a Frequent Flier of the X2 in pass-through mode. It's like getting those first few Vapes you get from a freshly charged battery all day long. Just thought this was worth sharing. Now I just need to find an extension cord long enough to reach from my house to the Mall... :D:vapor: I'm thinking I see a car type charger in my future. One last thing, a question to those who have far more knowledge of these things, is there any chance this will hurt or diminish the longevity of the battery? If so I may just buy one to use exclusively for this purpose.

I had the same experience. I too am wondering about the longevity of the battery. Batteries are supposed to last say "300 charges". If you are constantly charging the battery, as you we be in pseudo passthrough, what does that do to the battery?

I thought it was in my head and even mentioned it on another post but it looks like it wasn't my imagination. Great to hear :D

Why not just buy an actual passthrough 'battery'? They are not really a battery so you don't have to worry about the charges left.

I wanted a longer lasting battery and honestly thought I was getting a battery and passthrough in one. Now, after having a battery last more than two or three hours (X2), I'm thinking of getting the passthrough for home and using the X2 exclusively for travelling.

It doesn't affect it since you are not discharging and recharging battery. It's kinda like using your cell phone while on the charger. If battery goes dead on you cell phone, you can't use it again until it gets a bit of a charge. But once you can, using it wont deplete the charge it has.

The Smokeless Image Volt lineup, including the mini's and X2 passthru batteries, are all "regulated" batteries; meaning they are designed to provide the same power throughout their charge, until depleted enough to require a recharge. Theoretically, your vaping experience should not vary whether on the passthru or not.

Is that an accurate statement, Imagine?

So much for that theory!!! It's like when you fist take it off the charger as demonstrated on of Mr. Outlaws Videos using a VOM meter, the voltage is higher when you first remove it from the charger than it it is after a few minutes of use. So I can say without pause it does have a noticable difference on all three of my X2 1300s, no theroy just the facts!

well although regulated... they do come off the charger a bit hotter then settle into the 3.6/3.7 volts.

Unregulated will drop to about 3.0v before dealth ours about 3.4 (so it is a much more steady experience..this is still bound to happen.

SO yes a fully charged batt will have a stronger experience... not as strong as the 4.2v on the cig size batts on unregulated tho...

Then I stand corrected. :(

I can tell you that I have tested all of the x2. When they first come off the charger they are about 4 volts under load. They quickly drop (after about 20 vapes) to around 3.7-3.8 and remain there until 3.4v. At 3.4v you get about 15 vapes before it hits 3.2 and shuts down. I demonstrate it in my video on the x2

A kgo is much more sporadic. It starts at 4.0 under load and inconsistently drops to 3.0
