USPS is making it lame

Several years ago, a USPS driver put the pedal to the metal and plowed into our garage (the door was closed). He did nearly $3000 worth of damage and his truck would have ended up in our house if there hadn't been a lawn tractor, big snow blower and a lot of other stuff to stop him. I'm just glad I was home at the time because he was just getting ready to drive away when I went out to see what the *^*& was going on.

This... is... oiy. How the hell was he going to explain the damage to the truck? Given everything that he hit, there HAD to be some damage. If he'd gone back to his supervisors with a jacked up truck, they'd have demanded to know why he didn't get in touch with them when it happened. They have to have insurance, too.

I think it's called PANIC and he apparently just wanted to get out of there. I'll see if I can find a couple of the pictures and post them. The funniest (enough time has gone by that I can use the word funny now) is that the white aluminum garage door was bent into a bowl shape as it wrapped around the truck and was shoved into the contents of the garage.

And yes they do have insurance and I was eventually reimbursed although it was an enormous pain as I had to get more than one quote on each damaged item plus be there when each item was either repaired on sight or picked up and returned. I also had to shop for totaled items, all of which took several months and was a major pain in the .....

Again, Oiy.

All the lovely government red tape at work again.

By the way... Much avatar love. That's one of the best I've seen yet!

Gee guys .. I used to have troubles with USPS but everything has gone smoothly for the last couple of years, especially since I made a boxmod for my mail lady ::) Seriously, we have been getting really good service, sorry some of you have been having probs.

My only gripe is customs .. I have packages that come from Europe and Asia (air) that take like 2 days to get to US Customs (NYC I believe???) and 3-4 more weeks before it arrives at my home. Gee whiz fellas, quit eating donuts and send me my stuff!!
