I really hate to hear your having problems. Knock on wood but USPS has always done me right. You might want to call the Local Post Office and have a talk with the Supervisor.

I'd do this as suggested by tnt56 & then go one step further and have a nice little 'talk' with my Carrier ;)

My office is on somewhat of a combo route, lots of small office buildings with 10 to 30 suites in most buildings, with some single business and a few retail buildings. The carrier drives to the different buildings, but then walks the buildings to serve the individual suites. She's 50'ish, friendly, smart and a nice lady overall, and over my 20 years, had been by far the best carrier we've had. But around Feb by my records things started going down. I really don't want to get her in trouble, that's why I was looking for different options.

Years ago we had an older guy who smelled of cheap booze constantly; He was just riding it out waiting to retire. After he made his rounds we tenants were often known to exchange our mail to set things straight.

We use P.O. boxes here, and specifically, our business rents a private mailbox from another business on our building's first floor. It works great -- the private box provider picks up all mail from the post office for people contracted with her and re-sorts them into the customers' P.O. boxes at her own business location.

We no longer need to wait in lines at the crowded post office, and we also don't need to be in a certain location at a certain time to meet delivery people. Only downside is we usually need to wait an extra day for the provider to sort everything for us to be able to pick up.

I have a great mail person and stellar local office. I had a package that was labeled with the wrong address (my own fault) the address on the package was to an open field. The lady in the office was super nice - she called me three times to get more info and keep me advised of the search for my package. She even called back to see if I had received my package. Well, it turns out my mail carrier saw the package in the office and realized it as labeled wrong. He picked it up and delivered it to me the same day I was expecting it. This might sound like normal if you live in a small town.
but I live in a large city and have been at this address for less than 2 years.

One more "great service" story. I did grow up in a small town and it payed off when my uncle sent me a package. My uncle as a little (lot) crazy and addressed my package to my first name and the town I lived in. Suzette xxxxx. no state. no zip code. He was across the country far far away when he sent the package. somehow that package did arrive in my town and the postal clerk recognized my name. That package should have gone to the dead letter office! (it really should have gone to the dead letter office. as I said my uncle was crazy and the contents of that package was horrendous).

My sympathy to anyone who had not had the same great experiences.

I NEVER have packages delivered to my home--I have all my vape mail and other package mail sent to my work address.

I've had literally hundreds of dollars of merchandise "go missing" with my local USPS carriers. Everything from antique Fiesta Ware dishes, to electronics, to tools to CDs and DVDs, to books. Either my local USPS office is full of crooks and theives, or the sorters and carriers at this particular office are illiterate and utterly incompetent.

Nope, I don't have ANYTHING delivered to my home address--with USPS, or any other carrier. Packages delivered to my home address seem to magically "grow legs" because they are almost NEVER here when we get home at the end of the day, despite what the tracking website says...

Youre not alone. My next door neighbor whos since moved, complained about our postal carriers use of foul language while he was on his blue tooth so we lost our regular postman on our street. We used to get our mail at 10am now we dont get it until sometimes as late as 8pm at night.

I used to track my priority mail packages and then go to the post office at 8am to avoid waiting all day for them but a change in management has even put a stop to that.

Calls and complaints have yielded zero results and if there were a cheaper more reliable option Id go with them in a heartbeat.Im told that I could get a post office box to bypass the wait but a lot of companies wont send to a p.o box anymore because of issues with mail fraud.

I wish I could help you but Im in the same boat myself and would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

If you want a good laugh track this on USPS.com 9405511201080214929801
This what I've been going through

Dude!! I would freak out, every time, that's insane!

As for the OP's question, no problems here with USPS, but I do live in the boonies so we have only 1 regular delivery girl and she's been doing the route for many years.

One of the vendors I use ships from an area that just doesn't update. This happens every time. The tracking site will show that they received the delivery, and, for example, "estimated delivery Nov 28." Then on Dec 3rd they'll update to say that it's at the sorting facility that services my area, but still says "estimated delivery Nov 28." I'll usually get it that day (Dec 3rd). Others track better, but none make it by their estimated delivery date. UPS and FedEx (I order a lot from Amazon) always meet their estimated delivery dates, at least for me.

So far everything has eventually made it, though.

How many of you that have issues with your carrier go TO your post Office and ask to speak to either the Post Master or the Carrier Supervisor? I don't mean call, I mean actually GO THERE? Don't go complain to the window clerk, that's not her/his job, go complain to the person that can actually do something about it. The reason your mail takes longer to get there is #1 the PO has cut so many sorting facilities out and combining them only they aren't hiring any new people to replace the ones quitting or retiring, they just overload the ones left. Lets take a small office for example... 2 years ago there might have been 30 carriers with 30 different routes. Suddenly the PO needs to cut costs so they cut the routes down to 17 and split them up between 17 carriers who are required to deliver in the same amount of time to sort and delivery more mail. HOWEVER lets backtrack a little EVERY facility has been cut back on man hours. My family is a postal family. FIL retired, hubs has been there since 96, I was a postal worker from like 2004-end of January 2012. We've watch the PO change dramatically the last 2-3 years. Until 2 years ago we were working 50-60 hours a week, now hubs gets 30 hours and not 1 minute more.
If you want your delivery to be quicker actually go to the PO and speak to them in person, on the phone you are just a voice among many. And the ones who thinks your carrier is stealing your mail.... it's possible but more likely 1 of your neighbors is. Stealing mail is a felony and most postal workers want no part of that. When we are trained we ALL have to watch a video called "was it worth it". A dramatic portrayal of a postal worker stealing $5 from an envelope. They got it on video and there are video camera's, Cat walks, and the like ALL OVER and The Postal Inspectors took him out. If you truly believe your carrier is stealing your mail, call the postal inspectors, they will find out and take care of the problem. ;)

I get better service out of them than Fedex and UPS. The USPS is the only one that rings the Damn door bell. I have to check the door 2-3 times a day when they deliver. Had a fancy truck service that was suppose to deliver a TV and they just left it at the door set there for God knows how long and of it walked off. Lucky I had not signed for it. So I got a refund. USPS is the only one I trust. May not be the fastest but they are consistent. Fedex and UPS have lost their center, their early in life service to costumers. They just drop it and run.
