usps "tracking" question

ok, so back when i was a heavy vaper, i used usps priority a lot, in all the times i have used it, i have never seen this before

Delivered, September 07, 2011, 1:15 pm, xxxxxxxxxxxxx <---- still origin of package
Electronic Shipping Info Received, September 06, 2011 <--- origin of package

if i ever see the delivered status, it is never before it shows up here. just curious, has anyone seen this before =/

Looks like someone pushed the wrong entry on the scanner. JMO from working with their scanner for a bit.

Some people had this last week. It looked like packages were being delivered back to the vendor. I think in the end they went where they were supposed to go. I can't remember the vendor, but it all worked out. SOunds like a computer glitch.

Yup.

I ordered some nic from BoxElder and USPS tracking showed it was picked up in Ogden Ut on August 31st then delivered to Ogden Ut. on September 1st.

I e-mailed BoxElder on August 2nd just to give them a heads-up but the package was delivered to my home in Kalifornia on September 6th so I e-mailed them back and told 'em to disregard.

By the way, USPS tracking for that package still says delivered to Ogden Ut. on September 1st so they never updated.

I don't think they can fix a tracking screw up on their little scanners. Once it show's delivered it's an obsolete number and there's no way to back track it unfortunately in my experience.

That is nothing, I placed an order from libertyflights.com(CA) and it was supposed to be delivered to my place (WI) and the package went to the east coast MA and NH before arriving here. I can't blame libertyflights in any way, my first order arrived quickly, the address on the package was the same as the first order.

I had the same thing happen with my Box Elder order last week. I did receive the package yesterday, so I'm sure it's a glitch, who's glitch it is, that's another story.

Usps tracking can take awhile too update itll show up eventually labor day delays mail too

Generally, I can watch my package travel, though it is not intended to be "tracking". It works for me and keeps my costs down. I have had one go missing, but only the one. I've been a lot more nervous over a DHL out of China.

This happened to me every time I ordered from Geoff at TV. It never effected the delivery of a package. Musta been some quirk in the west coast postal system.

weird, never seen this kinda thing before, oh well, i talked to the sender, he talked to the PO, P said it was a screw up, so i guess ill see what happens.

I've seen this before with USPS. The line I got was just that there are only two options on the scanner, Accepted and Delivered, and the distinction isin't always clear to the average box jockey behind the buttons. I think it's a good argument for ditching the government mail system. The UPS people are WAY more professional.

for some things UPS is better, but with premium service you pay premium price. if they could be more competitive with usps i would be down with that. but you can't beat the price of the flat rate boxes, and like i said, in all the time i have done this, and 100's of packages, this is the first time i have seen this.
