Read my story of what happened when I vape roughly 2 year old juice in an LDPE bottle (not refrigerated or froze).

Take it for what it's worth.

That was a good read. It's not worth getting the NIC analyzed but hey, at least I'm not feeling sick;:)
I guess I'll just have to hope that leaching is low to none when plastic is kept cold. I remember reading that heat creates plastic leaching so maybe I got lucky.

I'm not a chemist. But I can tell you that comparing a bottle of Chemnovatic (very pure) nicotine base stored in a freezer to a bottle of flavored eliquid stored at room temp in a backpack (in a cheapo plastic bottle) is apples to oranges. Flavored eliquids don't last very long. Flavorings are usually the culprit here. Even fresh eliquids stored in glass bottles change flavor. Some for the better, some not so much, and this has nothing to do with leaching plastics. I'm now vaping a 2-year old Halo Menthol Ice and it's as good and clean tasting as it was on the day I got it. Menthols seem to fare better than complex dessert/sweet/fruity flavors. Tobaccos tend to get much more intense and tobacco-y. Some mixes just become nasty and unvapeable. Nature of the beast.

Rebottle your nic into glass bottles, the smaller the better--I like 120 ml ones. Cap them tightly (use phenolic caps with cones) and stick them in your freezer.

Good luck and happy vaping!

If it somehow went bad I'm not sure I would know how the taste would change. I'm guessing it would taste like tobacco?
I'm not sure if I'd describe it as "like tobacco", but you'll know it if it's bad (both by taste and by smell) and in my experience, it will also discolor. Your nic looks fine to me.

FWIW, I've opened one of room temperature samples in my freezer experiment and it smelled bad enough that I wouldn't even consider vaping it. Since opening it ruined the experiment for that bottle, it got poured down the drain.

Take a look at this post.

It makes it pretty obvious that keeping your nic in the freezer is the single most important thing you can do, and that rebottling in glass does help. The stuff in the plastic bottles was never opened. The stuff in the glass bottles was from the same batch and originally came in the same plastic bottles; all I did was pour in into glass; no fancy argon or anything like that.

Just want to thank everyone for their great feedback, recommendations, and for sharing their experience. I feel a lot better about vaping this NIC now and am so glad I asked for your help. The comparison of the improperly stored Vapers Tek against the properly stored MFS NIC is an eye opener when trying them both as unflavored e-juice. When doing so, the true properties of the NIC were revealed and I discovered the MFS wasn't very pleasant. It seemed dry and harsh to me while the Vapors Tek was smooth and enjoyable. I've certainly learned some things. Thanks! :)

I've never has MFS myself, primarily because it never had a very good reputation among those of us who like clean-tasting nic. But tastes vary and some people do like it; it seems to appeal primarily to people who like tobacco flavors.

Nicotine is the only tobacco flavor that I use. And, for that reason, I have always said that "unflavored" is the best tobacco flavor.
So don't worry about a small amount of taste. If it has become "peppered", then there is an oxidation problem.

ps: The nicotine that I'm vaping right now is 8 years old, and this 1 ltr. bottle should last another 2 years before it's all gone.

Finally got the Boston rounds yesterday.

Gave all of them a thorough rinse with very hot tap/faucet water (the hottest it can get)... filled halfway, shake with cap on, expel, repeat 5x... the same way I also clean all my used 60ml diy bottles after finishing them.

Just letting them dry now, overnight or two.
Also defrosting the nic back to room-temp.
I’ll decant tomorrow or the day after.

Bad means oxidized. Oxidation = discoloration. Bad nic is brown(ish). You're good! Congratulations!
I agree. Good for you (I only have 250 ml of 100 mg/ml nic... you guys are killing me with I only have 10 liters or I only have 2 gallons) Oh well... I will survive( I was secretly hoping you didn't want to chance it and I could make a deal with you)
