Uwell Crown 3 help

Hey Peeps

I am a fairly new vaper and i just bought a Smok G150 with a uwell crown 3 (heard a lot of good review about these two).

The problem im facing is if i use Nasty juice (70/30 3mg) any flavor, everything is perfect. If i use any other juice apart from THIS SPECIFIC brand of e juice, i get a nasty burnt taste on my first hit on the new coil.

I am doing all the steps to prime the coil, pouring a few drops of liquid on the sides of the coil till its saturated, poke a few holes in the sides with a a pin, letting it sit in the tank for 30 mins, taking dry primer puffs every now and then. After doing all of the above, i start to vape at about 25~watts on VW and the first puff i take is just nasty burnt/harsh taste with a slight touch of the flavour.

I have used the following e juices and it gives the same nasty taste: suicide bunny(mothers milk, sucker punch), Naked E juice (lava flow, very berry, hawaiain pog), Beard (no. 64). All of them are 70/30 and 3mg.

If i use Nasty juice (slow blow, asap grape) then it vapes perfectly! I use the exact same priming method. I am really frustrated at this moment and have checked all forums, reviews, guides and what not.. I have used both the 0.5 and 0. 25 coils for this but still no result. What am i doing wrong? Is the mod dead? Are coincidentally all the coils bad? If anyone can guide me to the right direction, i will be grateful.

HI and welcome. That does sound strange. You might try starting your break-in wattage lower than 25, but I don't think it will help much. Those coils are supposed to be rated between 70-90 watts. Are you using official Uwell coils, or a back market knock off? I also don't think that matters. Those coils are made on automatic machinery in the thousands per hour. You're bound to get a bad one now and again, especially in countries not featuring USA-type quality control systems. If I had to guess, I'd say a pack of bad coils. If you're buying them one at a time, then your vape shop got a bad box.

Im buying them in packs of 4. I have verified authenticity of the coils from the u well website too. If this is a saturation related issue, can i put some drops of e juice in the center of these coils? Or any other suggestions?

Some juices are thicker, even if it states the same 70/30 ratio.

Time to get into DIY juices, cheaper, way more control and 60/40 is the sweetspot for the Crown.

Pretty sure once you mix a batch of your own, slightly thinner juice, you won't look back..

They are all 70vg 30pg 3mg juices.

Best advice ?

Ditch the Crown and pick up an Eleaf Ello tank, such a good tank ! I don't rate the Crown 3...

Or think about getting into building your own with RTA's ( might not be your thang but I'll put it out there)

You also have Squonking

So so many options, make sure you know about ohm's law and battery safety though if you do go down that route.

Well, each juice is going to use a different flavor profile, meaning amount of flavor, so the only explanation that makes sense to me is that particular juice company uses the exact right amount of flavoring to fully wick your coil on first puff... Even if its the same VG/PG, flavorings and etc., are going to vary from company to company. You can make your own juices, if you have that desire, and experiment, you might try putting a drop or two of distilled water in a tank or two of other flavors to see if decreasing your viscosity helps some?

I Also have the same problem. Getting a harsh taste id call it, to any flavor i try. The reason i know its not the juice is that i sometimes get a good hit here or there, and i have the "ill reviewed crappy" crown rafale my brother got me to get me started and they all taste good on that.
I took it apart last night to clean and retry cuttwood birdbrain on the original .25 it came with, when i took off the lock piece and tried to unwind the 2 inside pieces to release the glass, those pieces were very tight, so tight i had to tap it on the counter to loosen it. Cleaned it all up, dried and put together , i reused the original .25 that i had used for 1 1/2 days until which it started tasting harsh, (last Monday i had taken it out, cleaned it really good under hot water, let it dry after wrapping it in white paper towel a few times and leaving it in a wrap of the paper towel until last night, so 4 days) put it on and check atomizer comes up, call the store he says bring it down, checks the coil, and it's not reading at all, ok so bad coil? He says yup coulda been, it happens, so he gave me one for free, nice, i wick it properly, in front of him, he agreed, (im only 4 weeks in), he says let it wick or sit for a while, give it some dry hits with the air closed to saturate it better, i did that and let it sit for a few hours while i enjoyed my smooth Rafale, lol. But now still not getting a good clean smooth hit, its damn harsh, im using cuttwood bird brains atm , supposed to be 70vg. 6mg nicotine. Any ideas would help as he had given me one from a sleeve, and while mine both came from the new box with the crown 3, the .25 and the .50 they both have been harsh and now the one he gave me is also and they cant be all the same batch. Ive heard somewhere they said to put a few pin holes in the coil? Ive used another flavor called panic attack with the .5 and it also was hsrsh while smooth on rafale. Someone said about another tank to loosen the part holding the glass together so that its on tight but just slightly off all the way, was using the rec wattage (.25-80-90w) (.50- 70-80w) then after talking to another guy was trying 10 watts under the min. I had wicked and started at like 40 w and did short puffs to wick for a while also. Please help. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you've done everything you were supposed to do. Somehow, that tank is just not wicking properly.

I had an Anyvape Sega that behaved the same way. I did everything right and still burned up three coils trying to get it to wick.

I ended up throwing it into the get-a-rountuit box.

If that were me, I'd be wondering if the tank is worth any further effort and start looking for something tried and true.

Yes im considering putting a post on craigslist seeing if anyone wants to trade my c3 for a rafale, lol idk why people dont like the Rafale, if you fill it and wipe the small top fill area it does not leak at all. A great vape.

I'm gonna guess this is your first setup ? Anyway one way or another i still think that setup is wayyyy overkill....... I use a smok big baby beast tank as i can't justify vaping at 100 watts + it's way too hot imho to do much. Then again i'm not everyone but unless you know about mtl and dtl setups your store clerk probably scammed your ... (i for one would NEVER sell a crown 3 to a fairly new vaper) what you got atm is directed to direct lung puffs (in case you didn't know) smoking is mtl (mouth to lung) some tanks like the nautilus offer a much better quitting experience since it's closer to smoking on a cigarette, crown 3 is a sub 0hm tank for direct lung inhales and not suited towards new vapers.
