Hi Rob,

As long as your contacts are all clean, the connection between the battery spring and mod and the centre pin and switch contacts are tight the actual voltage drop of the mod will be minimal. Unless you have some expensive test equipment you will struggle to measure the voltage drop.

What you are seeing is the battery voltage sagging due to the load that is placed on it. This can be significantly different depending on the state of the battery. A brand new battery will have less of a drop than on that has had more use.

If you suspect you have a problem with the contacts, the easiest way to check is with a good quality multimeter. Check the voltage across the battery outside of the mod, then put the battery in the mod and check the voltage across the 510 connector. Be careful not to short the test leads when you do this otherwise you will drop your hot spring. I am willing to bet you will see a drop of less than .05 Volts. Realistically that is insignificant in terms of how much extra vapour you would get!

As long as everything is clean and tight I doubt you have anything to worry about.
