I've been reading everyone's post and all I have to say is thank you for all the great advice. I made a trip out to Laguna Beach and was hoping to try different types of systems but as soon as I mentioned KGO, the guy helping me had no idea what one was and started helping someone else (this was after waiting 20 mins to talk to him). I got to see the size of it which was the important part and I'm still concerned about portability of it and having it rattle around in my pocket.

Quitting analog cigarettes is my main priority and at this point, I'm ready for a prolonged battle that may take months or even years and I'm ready to spend the money on both V2 types products AND ego/kgo type products. I'm already spending over $700 dollars per year on analog anyways so why not right? So my plan right now is to go with a product like v2 and then eventually, upgrade to ego/kgo. Again, I don't mind spending the extra money. Anything to get my off of analog is worth it.

I decided not to go with the AltSmoke b/c their starter kits start at $80 and decided not to go with Halo cigs b/c they didn’t offer a cigarette holder. So of the ones that were recommended in this thread, that only leaves v2 and elite 808. After checking out both products, I finally settled on the elite 808’s. Thanks for the advice guys.

I was actually going to buy the elite808 right now but it seems like they're out of stock and what I find a little troubling is that they don't have a customer service support phone line. I see them on these forums and I'm going to send Cigeasy a message on here and see if I can correspond with them that way. If I don't get a response from them or if they won’t have them in stock for weeks, then I'll probably just end up getting the v2 travelers kit.

Since I’m going to be buying ego/kgo eventually, I have a question for you current owners. How do you guys manage carrying them around? Do you have a case for it? What other things should I buy with it when I do decide to go down that route? Thanks to all! :)

If you do contact them, ask them what type of warranty they offer. On their site it says a week.

I started with a basic ego for $30 and used it for a year. In fact one of my Joye ego batteries still works from my very first starter kit. There are slightly higher voltage ego type batteries, but none seem to last as long as the joye batteries. No idea why. I do like the echo-e battery (probably the same thing as a kgo, same voltage) but do get a great vape from an ego battery with LR cartomizers.

Sweet-Vapes has a KGO starter kit with cartomizers
KGO Mega Dual Coil Kit | Sweet-Vapes E-Liquid

They also have a Riva carto kit with small and larger batteries
Riva SE 510 Kit | Sweet-Vapes E-Liquid

I wouldn't get a V2. They aren't a registered supplier here and I only buy from the registered suppliers on the board. If you want a mini, you can pick up a joye 510 for about $40. You can use the same cartos on the ego and joye provided they aren't low resistance.

I wouldn't spend more than that until you know what you like. Then get yourself a Reo and you'll never want another pv.

I've never tried a Joye 510 but I've tried some other 510 mini's with carto's and I think an 808 is a much better vape.

Keep in mind that the juice you're using and the quality of the carto make a big difference.

For example I was using an 808 blank carto that just didn't hold much juice. I could never understand how people said a carto would hold so many drops of liquid, then I got a better carto where it was obvious the filler material was way more dense and I was able to drip a bunch more juice in.

I went from blu and safecig(micro) 510's to V2 808's. I thought that was a huge improvement in battery performance(but I hated V2's flavors).

Then I started filling blanks and adding juice to pre-filled cartos from Liberty Flights. Huge improvement in flavor and vapor. (I'm a particular fan of Liberty Flights LF4 tobacco flavor, though I like dripping other things in with it too).

Then I got a genuine Joyetech eGo-C. Wow!!! whole different ballgame vaping the same liquids, insane increase in throat hit and amount of vapor, battery last for an evening of beer consumption and heavy chain vaping.

When I ordered the ego-c I also ordered some Smok dual coil cartomizers (which fit on the ego batteries). I did a side by side using the dual coil carto on one battery and the ego-c tank on the other. Personally I prefer the carto because it warms the vapor more where the tank provides a much cooler vapor, but both were awesome.

I have an emdcc (ego mega dual coil cartomizer) coming in the mail, I'll let you know how that stacks up when it arrives.

I also ordered a small threaded cover piece so that when I'm using a carto on my ego the threads where the cone normally thread onto are covered and protected.

So my advice would be that when you order an ego model:

1. Get an ego-C, improved battery with LED button indicator to tell you when the battery charge is getting low
2. Get and ego-C, improved tank system less prone to leaks
3. Get a 510 threaded dual coil cartomizer or an emdcc so you can do a comparison and see which you like better
4. Get a cone so when you use a carto the cone threads are protected (i.e. ST-eGo DCT Cone - type A eGo DCT Cone - Chrome Shorty - Type A from SmokeTek) or wait to get one until you know if you like the carto better(only 2 bucks though)
4. Get genuine Joyetech eGo rather than a knock-off (this will be the most controversial thing which many will disagree with me on)

I just bought the KGO, extra cartomizers, 2 sampler eliquids and 1 regular eliquid from DarkCityVapors.com, all for half the price I was going to pay at V2, and half the price I paid at BLU (still trying to get my money back). Great service from Bill. Thanks Bill! And thanks to all for your advice. I can't wait to get my vape on this weekend! :)

BTW, the discount code is now only good for 5% on hardware. A little dissapointed but I purchased enough for free shipping so I'm still happy.

After some extensive research.. I choose the V2 system....
2 pack a day smoker for 45 years. I love it, Im sure there are better out there...but it's all in what you want...Don't care to much for V2's flavors, but now that i've learned how to clean carts, refill, maintain batts......it's all good...
Tons of info on here great people. From the first day i got my kit....have never looked back,,,,
Good Luck...
