I really want a flip after seeing it on a Grimmgreen review, but they are bit pricey. I'd love to but a clone but the authentic one has some more customization options. The gold plated one is reiculously expensive though, but I do dig the green edition one. Might wait and see how this thing will be priced, as even a hundred dollars or so would be well worth it i think.

well, the sexiest mod in existence has been clone

If you think the Flip is the sexiest mod in existence.... meh.

It's WAY overdone and busy. Incredibly tacky. It borderline looks like something out of a dollar store, very amateur and rookie art design IMO. Not the machining mind you, but that stupid, stupid nonsense artwork.

Looks is subjective, but performance not so much. The Flip is a poor performer, a big time fail with voltage drop in that price tier without a doubt.

Ahahahahhaha ... those sly US modders and their limited run contracts in China :p

So not the case for the Flip. You can get your name deeply engraved in it. Not laser etched mind you. I do give V3tronix major props for things like that. They do outstanding machining, even if I do think it looks like garbage design wise, it's impressively machined garbage none the less.

V3tronix is all up in arms about this though. They are going to try and squash.

Dude, they are FLIPPING out over the Flip clone. They are not handling it in a good way at all. Check out the fiasco on their facebook page. They're outing group buy people, posting their names and locations, and threatening their families and to make phone calls to their employers and the such. I can't make that stuff up...

Instead of leaving it to lawyers, or contacting the group buy organizers, they've gone ahead and thrown a childish temper tantrum in the public eye. I mentioned above that I thought their "art/design" was incredibly tacky and rookie/amateur. The way they are dealing with the clone is incredibly tacky and rookie as well. I understand V3tronix being ...... off, but leave the harsh hating and liable comments to the fans and the interwebs. Some of the stuff V3tronix left in the comments was mind boggling foolish.

Regardless, the clones are looking to be about $50-$60 bucks. I wouldn't be caught dead with the clone OR the original. LOL Cynical me loves to see a good ol' hot mess unfold though, you all have at it now. :D

The HCigar rep I talked to quoted a price of about $45 each for a wholesale not including shipping fees and incidentals and such. If you were to get on a group buy, expect to pay about $60-$70 after shipping charges and all. I'm considering getting one but I'll wait for more pictures of the device since the machining of it is off and it looks completely brushed instead of having polished parts like the authentic.

The way V3tronix is handling the situation is rather juvenile, making threats at anyone considering running a group buy for this. They really have no legal precedence as long as they're not being "sold" by a business or individual since a runner isn't actually selling you a product. They can target vendors who sell it via cease and desist orders though. Although I think the authentic mod is neat, I lost a lot of respect for the company after seeing how they handled this situation and they'll need to recover their image.

As for the mod itself, I like the authentic although it looks rather gaudy and busy. The performance is not excellent though because they can't use silver plated (like the clone will) nor silver contacts and the spring on the top cap causes a lot of voltage drop. I can't justify spending $250 on a device that won't perform on the same level as my $40 Panzer or my $45 Stingray, both of which are beautiful as well. The Panzer already fills the niche of being a big and busy looking mod anyway while hitting much harder.

Cigreen is working on a Flip clone as well, V3tronix already flipped out on Instagram over it, causing a bunch of mindless drones to troll one of their sales rep's Instagram.

Specifically they sold clones of the Trident atomizer. This was ponted out to them, the link now points to orings.

I think you'll still be able to find the link in their FB page.

EDIT: Here it is

http://www.v3tronix.com/products/grand-vapor-24k-gold-plated-trident-clone-rebuildable-atomizer

See the address?

Sorry, I didn't notice you found the link and edited it in until today.

Well now, that is very interesting.

Since they removed the product and such, I can't verify that it was a clone or not.

Regardless, if that was indeed a clone... they've got some splainin' to do. :D

I don't blame them for being upset they're being cloned.

The whole public shaming of individuals thing is ridiculously childish though.

It is one thing to be upset and want to protect your product.
it is another to sell clones of others designs then act like total d bags when your own design gets cloned.

The idiotic v3 lapdogs like the ones in this image are what drive me away from buying a v3 authentic uploadfromtaptalk1398071156781.jpg
