Hey guys and gals in the V4L crew.

I was just wondering if any new products are coming soon, I know from previous posts, you guys have mentioned, new batteries, cases and other accesories and stuff.

How is that stuff coming along, any ETA on some of it, was going to place a order soon to stock up for the next month, and didnt want to order and then have new cools stuff hit and have to wait for my next order.

Not to mention, inquiring minds want to know some details :)

Thanks

*bumping out of shared anticipation and curiousity*

It's interesting...I've switched to the 900mAh eGo and 510 cartos, yet I still miss the VK now and again. Been doing a research into cutting-edge devices (like the loongtotem v12 and the GreenCig G400), and it's prompting me to wonder when V4L's gonna release their next-gen hardware.

At this point, I'd at least settle for a teaser pic of whatever R&D's working on, as I'm sure the rest of you do as well! :D

I'm in the planning stages for a new build....
So far it's looking like i7 870 CPU w/8GB and a 5870 GPU. Never liked the idea of Crossfire or SLI. You must have a helluva power supply in that thing!

:matrix:

Getting a "little" OT, but I run the two cards independently. I'm using them for Cuda and PhysX processing. In fact - they're SLI cards on a XFire board...

I'm using the Thermaltake 1200w ToughPower. Seems like it should be undersized, but runs fine under full load. (I exploded an 850wt, literally) I wanted the 1500w but couldn't find them.

I don't job much on the CPU. I'm running the AMD 1055 hex-core with 16GB of RAM. The important things to me are GPU (floating operations) and RAM. And to some extent HD speed. My use is all about simulation - which makes the gamers of the world cringe. :) I have the hex for the times I need to transcode which is still a cpu-bound task, but that's not frequent enough to absorb Intel's exorbitant asking price on the i7.

Yep, as soon as they came out with X-Fire and SLI they came out with faster single cards with dual GPUs on one card. If one, (in a single config) card fails it would be far less hassle and probably less expensive to replace down the road. The 5870 is a good choice even if it is a little pricey. You might actually want to look at the i7 860. It would save you some $$ with little difference in real-world performance.

Nice! Don't think I've ever seen a 1500W PS. I hadn't got around to researching the AMD 1050 and 1090 yet. What MB are you running all that on? The Intel is overkill for what I will use it for, but I already talked myself out of the i7 930 1366 motherboards. Don't think I will miss triple channel memory and the difference between 16x/16x and 8x/8x PCI-E is negligible. Especially since I will be getting it done with 1 GPU anyway. I could step down to the i5 750 pretty easy....but I always start at the top and then work down to what I can actually afford<grin>.

Actually, both the 860 and the 870 are $290 at NewEgg. Even the 930 is $290. Can't say I understand it! MicroCenter has a in store only deal for $200 on the 930. Amazing. To get any cheaper you have to go down to the i5 750 or 760 for $200.

Sorry for the off topic folks....
