Is anyone using a V4L Titan battery AND Cool Cart cartomizer AND refilling their own?

I'm having problems with mine:

1) Having to draw hard on some carts

2) not getting enough vapor

I have 2 Titan automatic batteries and 1 manual Titan battery and my carts are only a week at most. Some are days old and I'm not constantly vaping the same one all the time so it can't be that they need replaced. I am currently refilling my carts using johnsons creek liquid and using differing " condom" fill methods. I even drip directly into the cart (one drop at a time on the edge) I can't get consistent performance.

What are some of you guys doing. I understand that some of you will tell me to use this or that product but I'm really only interested in making my current stuff work for me. I just ordered some juice from V4L thinking maybe that the vapor on johnsons creek stuff just sucks anyway. I'm tired of spending money on stuff that doesn't give me the vaping experience I'm looking for. I saw a video where a guy was vaping on the same kit that I'm using straight out of the box and was getting loads more vapor than i have ever been getting.

You might want to try the WOW cartomizers. You'll get a warmer vape, that may be what your looking for.

I'm not sure the resistance of the cartomizers at V4L, but lower resistance cartomizers might give you the vape your looking for.

Here are some 2.5 KR808 cartomizers. They even have 2.0 which isn't recommended for a small battery- you'd have to replace your battery sooner and it won't stay charged as long, but it might give the what you want.

Smok Tech Cartomizers 808 2.5 ohms 5 pack Electronic Cigarette in Charleston South Carolina
Smok Tech Cartomizers 808 2.0 ohms 5 pack Electronic Cigarette in Charleston South Carolina

You might eventually want to pick up a larger battery pv so you can use low resistance cartomizers. Or maybe increase the nicotine until you do. You can pick up a pretty inexpensive ego type for $30-$40.

V4L makes a good pv. My mom started with a V4L pv and still uses it occasionally. To get completely off cigs, she moved up to a bigger battery pv. It wasn't a waste though, she still uses it. But sometimes when you first start you need a bigger battery model so you can get that warm vape low resistance cartomizers give you.

Bob,

I don't have a v4l kit, however I know a lot about them.

First of all, the v4l cartos are very finicky. Because of where the coil is in the carto, they get a lot of dry hits and burn easily. If you check out this video, you can see what I'm talking about. The carto I am using is a v4l carto. I would suggest trying some Smokeless image cartos with it, they will make a huge difference.

Now, for some immediate help. Have you cleaned your battery? If you don't regularly clean the threads and inside by the post, it wont vape right.

Also, are you possibly overfilling? Overfilling will cause less vape sometimes.

It could also be the carto itself. The coils could be gunked up. What type of juice are you using? Is it 100% vg or is it the pg juice. Pg does not give good vapor, but high vg will clog the carto and you won't be able to fill it as many times. I know that I was able to refill smokeless image cartos at least 20 times but only got 4-5 refills on the v4l ones

If you have any questions feel free to ask or pm me

I suppose i could be over filling. How do you know how much to fill it with and when to stop filling? Also I'm using 100% PG johnsons creek juice

Also on dealing with cleaning and clogged cartos. How do you do this? If a carto gets clogged can you clean it?

Also i don't really want to (and can't afford to) buy any more cartos right now. I have 20+ cool carts that i got. 10 of which were blank.

Ive read where people have been able to refill cool carts 20 times.

Hi Bob,
I've never used Johnson Creek juice, but if it's 100% PG that's probably part of your problem. VG is what you need to get good vapor. You can pick some up at most drug stores - brand name HUMCO - glycerin, hand protectant - usually in the first aid section or by hand lotions. Add a little to your current juice to increase the vapor. Generally speaking, you would want at least 20% VG. But be aware that the flavor of your juice will decrease when adding unflavored VG.

Regarding filling your cartos, etc. You might want to watch videos made by Snowdragon, found on youtube. They'll give you a good understanding of how to do things. You'll also want to look for his post adjustment video. Sometimes, the V4L cartos don't make good contact with the battery, and one needs to just pull out the bottom post of the carto a bit.

If your carto is gurgling, you probably overfilled it. You should be able to see light though the center tube of the carto.

If you need more help, please consider posting in the V4L subforum. Lots of helpful folks there.

I wouldn't throw the out, I was just suggesting that when you need more, look at the SI cartos. They will work of the v4l battery.

If you check out my video on filling cartos, I explain how to fill with a condom fill and spin. You basically want to add about 20 drops. Let it sit, or do a spin with it, then put a few more drops it. It should look slushy, but not pooled. Be sure you blow through the carto from the mouthpiece side to make sure that there is no juice in the air tube.
is there any juice on the battery terminal when you remove the carto after filling? One drop on the terminal will make the coil not activate right because the cartos can't get a good connection with the battery.

Cartos are difficult to clean. Remember, they are meant to be disposable. On average you should get one to two weeks, or 5-10 fills. It all depends on the juice. Thick juice will clog the carto faster and so will dark juices. Some people boil them, but it's a 50/50 shot that it will work. After you boil, many times the carto is shot. To me, not worth it because even if it does work, you usually only get 1-2 more fills and the filler can gunk up worse. With 100% pg, your cartos should be ok. Unless you have filled them 20 times

I think the biggest issue you have is the combination of the 100%pg and the cool carts. The cool carts are high resistance. They don't burn as hot, thus you don't get as much vapor. I believe they are 3.0-3.2ohms. The wow carts are 2.8oh,s and give more vapor. Then you have the pg factor. PG doesnt give a lot of vapor. PG allows the throat hit and flavors to come through, but the vg provides the clouds of vapor. Too much vg will mute flavor and throat hit as well as clog the carto. I prefer 70%pg/30% vg. You get the best of both worlds.

Check out Vapedudes.com. You can get a free bottle of juice with the coupon code FBFREE. Shipping included. They only take 15 a day, so if it doesn't work, try the next day. Try a juice with 30%vg and see if that helps.

You can also add a little vg to your Johnson creek juice. You can pick it up at Walmart or cvs/riteaid. Its usually in the aisle that has facial cleaners. Even adding 10-20% will help. You don't want to add too much because you will be diluting the flavor and nic level
