The original vacuum tubes thread was closed [http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...bes-valves-theyre-called-uk.html#post8609068] , so here is a new thread. I opened it because I have an interest in this type of mod. Not so much the use of actual vacuum tubes, but rather for the look. Those interested in steam punk style would also be interested in this.

I came across this product, at e5cigs; 3.0ml Clear Pyrex Glass Replaceable Coil Wax Glassomizer 650mAh Battery T5-65DK
3.0ml Clear Pyrex Glass Replaceable Coil Wax Glassomizer 650mAh Battery T5-65DK E Cigarette (Stainless Steel) - All Electronic Cigarette

I know nothing about it, and am totally unaware of how an atomizer of this type functions. It seems to take "solid" juice. At only $10 for the entire kit, I may buy it just to check it out.

Hey, I've seen that on Fasttech! I was confused about it at first also, but it appears to be like a dripping atomizer, just put a few drops in the little ceramic cup and puff away. I thought it'd be pretty cool because you'd see the bulb fill with vapor whenever you use it. I've been debating on trying one out.

Here's the link. They also sell one that comes with an extra atomizer head, plus the heads by themselves. I wonder if these are rebuildable....

They're chiefly used for wax or dry herb, though I'd imagine converting them to liquid usage would be doable. I suppose you could drip on the existing coil, but they look like leakage would be a big problem. Then again I've no first hand experience so all of this is guessing.

Maybe you could replace the tank of a normal (for most vapers, liquid) atty with the bulb? You'd see more juice than vapor but it'd still look unique.

I had a similar thought. A close up of the atomizer seems to look like there are rubber gaskets at each end. So, the atomizer head base is simply plugged in like a cork. The air outlet may be similarly "corked"... But, that black band that seems to be around the outside of the pyres at the outlet. I am puzzled by that. Perhaps it is simply an optical transfer of the seal on the inside. Here are some close ups from the FastTech - Gadgets and Electronics web site.

On the original vacuum tube thread, I created a drawing for an atomizer. The goal I had in mind was to prevent leaks in any orientation. This meant any openings had to be located so that they would never be immersed in liquid. It had the coil in the center of a sphere, with the air inlet and outlet coming through tubes towards the center of the sphere.

I think this existing one from e5cig can be adaptable to that idea. The two changes would be to add a wick through the coil and then to add an extension tube through the mouth piece. A simple coffee stirrer straw added to the existing mouthpiece may be sufficient for a test. Here is a drawing;

I have ordered one from e5cig, but their shipping times mean it may take up to 6 weeks for it to arrive. So it will be a while before I know.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Those o rings are on the inside, it is just the optics of the bulb, you can even see in the disassembled pic all the parts. There is growing opinion that a smaller chamber is better for more vapor, so whole the bulb might look nice the function isn't going to be so nice. Then there is the issue that it looks like it is for illicit use. I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, just being practical.
