I gew up on LI, moved away in my 20's and never looked back.

I grew up in Ct pretty close to how expensive it is to live in Ny. Glad I got out of there No snow No stupid fees alot cheaper down here.

LOTS of people are leaving in droves out of NYC to the south. My parents left(me included) in 1999 and went to HOuston where they and my brothers and sister still live. They love it and honestly their lives are all so much better now. Me I came back 2 weeks after turning 21, 7 months later and never looked back.. The south is beautiful(especially TX) but too hot for my liking so I'm planning on moving Up to Maine which is my favorite place in the world.. I really tried giving Austin a chance and love to visit but even there me and my girl didn't feel home..

# 4 LI was the bane of my existence when I had to drive up there for business. 3-4 hour commutes are not fun.

So alike - I was born in Manhattan but my folks moved us down to FL when I was young. Moved back up there for work. The ONLY thing I miss is the cold weather now that I'm in Georgia. It gets silly hot here. I've never been to Maine, but really want to visit. Best of luck, dude!
