Hi all, I posted in this in the Variable Voltage APV Discussion forum but didn't get much of a response, so I'm going to quote it here. For a direct link to my original post, you can click here.

So I have two Joye eGo C-Twists I've been using for a while, and I've found that with my 2.5 ohm heads, I get my best vape around 4.0-4.2V (or about 6.5 - 7 watts). It maximizes the flavor without worry of a burnt taste.

I just got the VAMO 5 and I'm loving it. However, I originally had it at about 7 watts and it hit incredibly hard, huge flavor, but got a burnt taste pretty quick. I turned it down to 6 watts and even 5.5 watts and I'd get a burnt taste after just a couple hits. So I turned it down to 5 watts and it seems perfect -- haven't gotten a burnt taste, but still way more flavor than the eGo C-Twist. It is a little cool feeling though.

Is there a reason why 5 watts seems to work better on the VAMO compared to 6.5 - 7 watts on the Twist? Is it due to RMS mode?

EDIT: Scratch that, now even getting a bit of a burnt taste on 5 watts. Maybe I just burnt my atomizer head when I first used it?

EDIT 2: Also, for reference, I'm using stacked 18350's from AW.

I'm using a Protank II (tried 2.5 ohm resistance and 1.8 ohm resistance now.) I'm down to about 3.5 watt to 4 watts to ensure I don't burn anything. Even at 4.5 watts, if I take about 3-4 hits within a minute it starts giving me a burning feeling in the back of my throat and tasting gross. This amazes me because at 6.5-7 watts on my Twists, this same tank and liquid is absolutely fine. I'm vaping 100% VG.

I tried flipping the rubber grommet on top of the flavors wicks but got no real change. I love the stronger flavor of my VAMO, but not if it's coming at the cost of burning through an entire pack of atomizer heads in a few days.

100% VG... too thick for the stock coil imo, you need to take a flavor wick out. Should be 3 there. 2 on top and 1 going through the coil; take one of the 2 on top out and try it.

I use Protanks when i'm out and about so if I accidentally drop it, not that much of a loss and I always take a flavor wick out before I put the new coil in. I normally use 80/20, 70/30 and tons of vapor and flavor with a wick out. Thicker juices I just throw in my AGA T2 with ss wick.

I've had bad luck trying to remove a flavor wick before. Ended up flooding the thing or something. Started getting really poor draw. I might try it again, but what's the real benefit if I'm no longer getting the burnt taste on RMS?
