Well my Vamo died after 5 months of use so I'm looking for a new mod. I don't want a repeat of this incident so I'm looking for ultra durable. And I'm not into mechs. So I guess that leaves me with Provari. People have said they ran them over and they still worked. And I'm a chain vaper so I like my mods to take an 18650 battery. Is anyone selling a used Provari for a reasonable price? On ebay and craigslist, they seem to want like-new prices for them. I'm looking for one that is about $80. But it can be well used, scratched up, beat up, as long as it still works I guess.

Theres a silver provari v1 on ebay with 0 bids starting at $100. But with 6 people watching it, I expect the price to go up as it nears the end.
That's probably about as cheap as you're going to get. There was one on the classifieds for $120 that had some scratches.
They hold their value really well so to find one for $90 would be pretty rare.
I keep toying with the idea of selling mine but wouldn't let it go for under $140. Anything lower than that just woulnd't be worth it.

The Vamo has had problem after problem. Its my opinion that it was cheap junk to begin with. The 510 connection was made out of cheap, soft metal. The threads themselves never stripped, but the circular connection somehow warped. I always had to do the best I could, with a pair of pliers to try to squish it back into true. Or at least back into enough of a circular shape that would accept an atty. The metal had stretched, and it was always a real pain. Also, one of the buttons decided to go flat one day. Just stopped having any feedback at all. And now, its decided that any coil put on it, is either 9.9ohms, 0.0ohms, or has a short. So as far as I'm concerned nobody should ever buy a Vamo. That's the explanation for why I'm looking for a Provari, I've heard of their reputation for durability and I don't want to go through this again.

I just want to vape, and not have to ever think about the VV mod. Just forget its even there really. I'm not really interested in other methods, such as repairing the vamo and from this point on I'd like the thread to stick to the original topic.

Each Mod comes with its own set of issues. My Vamo died last month so I ended up picking up a cheap mech mod clone and an Innokin SVD. Absolutely love both of them, and together I spent $80 (also bought an RDA to go with them). You most likely won't find a Provari for $80, I think the cheapest I've seen is between 100-130ish.

Provari is the answer. I've had mine for almost a year now (bought new) and it hasn't given me one bit of trouble. I've dropped it several times, it's tipped over many times, and once I even dropped it off my lap into the snow when I got out of my car and didn't realize it was missing until hours later...picked it up, wiped it off, and it still worked perfectly!

I really don't get why people have such a hard time justifying the cost. For me (I live in NY) it's about the cost of 3 cartons of cigarettes, which would have lasted me...oh maybe a month! Not long!

It is not expensive when you consider the peace of mind, reliability, performance, and good old made in USA quality! Just bite the bullet and get one! There's a reason they hold their value, and you're only torturing yourself if you try and wait for a price you won't find!

BTW, that 9.9 or 0.0 reading is because you've mashed down the actual 510 pos connection in the bottom of the socket. Very easy to fix if that is what the problem is, just have to get in there with a small screwdriver or tip of tweezers and gently pry it back up. If it just sort of falls back down too low again it is still a pretty easy fix. You can pull that pos connection all the way out but not too far as it is connected to the pos wire. Then you rip the bottom off an old 510 carto or atty and you will find a small rubber insulater kind of thing. Take that and work it down over the pos connection pin on the vamo and then push the pin back into place. Many have had to do this, works like a charm.

If it really is hosed then either save up and buy a Provari if you want one or shell out $40 for something like an MVP 2 which seem very sturdy for the money IMO. Either way good luck, I know it sucks when a mod doesn't work the way it should!
