Is there any reason one would want to switch to Mean mode rather than be in RMS? I was reading the Vamo forum and it seems like some Vamo's can switch and some can't. I got a Vamo V5 last monday and found out the other day that it has both modes and can switch between them by holding the "-" button for like 10-15 seconds. From my understanding, Mean mode will have a vast range of power it will output even when placed at a low power? So say I have it set to 3.5V, at any point it could be putting out anywhere from 0V to 7V? Or is it only 0V, 3.5V, and 7V? Or do I have this all wrong? But again why would anyone want to put it in mean mode?

In mean/ AVG mode the voltage fluctuates up and down to achieve a certain average voltage. In RMS the voltage line is flat without the up and down fluctuation. In the Means/ AVG setting some will get a burnt taste because of the voltage fluctuation. Vamo V3 doesn't have the Means and I have no idea why they brought it back in V5

What kind of testing equipment? Like for what purpose? Just curious, I like to know what everything does and why. From what i was reading on the Vamo forum, looks like there may be two different manufactures from china that produce the Vamo. Some people are reporting that their V3's have the option while others don't. Seems like it may be the same for the V5, which is odd because I too read somewhere that the feature had been removed.. On mine when I switch between modes, it actually tells me which mode it is (Output: Mean / Output: RMS) rather than just No1 or No2.
