Hello everyone newbie here with no experience with e-cigs other then the crap blu disposable I tried a while back. Smoke around a pack a day and need to quit, so wanted to get into vape. Right now Im looking to pull the trigger on a Vamo v2 kit, was going to purchase a LavaTube but after reading a few threads here it looks like Vamo might be the way to go. I really have no idea what Im getting myself into so all help is appreciated.

Pretty much Im looking for a kit thats less then $150 and durable that will be easy to use.

Was going to purchase this Vamo Variable Volt/Watt APV (Chrome) V2.0 Kit - High Desert Vapes but thought Id ask to make sure this is the best choice.

If I do purchase the Vamo kit what is recommended to buy for accessories or does the kit come with everything I will need?

Just checked out the link you posted...and this is what is on that page (I will say this though, even though I have never purchased from High Desert Vapes, plenty here have and most all give them two thumbs up!)

"Comes with everything you need to start vaping:
1 X 18650 battery
1 X 18650 Charger
2 X CE4 Clearomizers
OEM Gift Box
Instruction Manual
The battery and charger that come with this kit are considered "extras" and are not coverred under the standard warranty. We high suggest you replace these ASAP with a decent charger like the Tr-001 and AW IMR Batteries.

So according to their own webpage, their batteries and charger that come with it aren't that great...plus, it only comes with one battery...so when that one is charging, you have no back up.

I just ordered this Kit from Fasttech http://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10004394/1359402

This does come from Hong Kong...so you are looking at around 2 week wait time...but the 2 batteries that come with this kit are supposed to be really good batteries and the charger as well. Of course, if you go with this one, you'll have to buy some tanks or other type of juice delivery device.

that's the one I got, you will find better deals as people post but they are from overseas and can take up to two weeks to get it.. I hate to wait so I got that one instead.
You will need another battery, i got these Efest IMR 2000mAh 3.7v 18650 Battery - Button Top

Be sure to get some juices

I like the Vamo :d

Yeah If I went with the Vamo from High Desert I was going to get some better batteries and charger just wanted to make sure the Vamo was a good choice. Also looking at PureSmoker LEGACY Standard [18650] with the Ultimate kit, do you think the legacy is a better choice or Vamo still is the one to get?

If you decide to get that kit from HDV, and want better batteries...this place here Genuine AW Batteries at RTD Vapor
is where a lot of people get their Batteries from.

Haven't heard of too many people getting a Vamo and not liking it. I will say this though..if you are planning on getting better batteries/charger..why not buy else where. Plenty of places have just the Vamo Tube for much cheaper than buying a Kit.

From High Desert Vapes website:

The TrustFire Tr-001 is also garbage. I know cuz I owned one until it failed. Also their Vamo is Chrome. It's a fingerprint magnet and scratches very easily.
Avoid any batts or chargers with the name "Fire" in it.
The Stainless Steel Fasttech kit in Post #5 far is superior with a GREAT Charger and batteries. Buy this kit Stateside and costs around $100.00 as opposed to $53.00. Add their excellent CS and FT is a strong thumbs up.

Actually because FT is located in Hong Kong the mail does not go through the overwhelmed Beijing Terminal. I've placed 3 orders- arrived in 11 days, 9 days and 8 days.

What else would you recommend I buy with it? Should I start off with a Protank maybe a ViVi Nova?

I am not brand loyal or Vendor loyal. The Vivi Nova FT sells are knockoffs are are sometimes problematic. I've been using Vision brand Vivi Nova 3.5 ml for 11 months. My heads ate lasting 10+ weeks and are cheap and easy to change. My operating cost for my Vivi is 14 cents per week. The ProTank I've never tried as I'm very happy with my Vivis. Most of these clearo/ tank setups have the option to replace the head thus making it easy and cheap. Realize if vaping "acidic" juices the plastic will degrade. The ProTank is glass so there's no problem.
Here's a good price for the ProTank- use the discount code:
Vapor Joes - Daily Vaping Deals: LOW: Kanger Pro Tank - $14.05

Have you ever tried these at all Aluminum Vivi Nova - High Desert Vapes Thanks again for all your help!

You're welcome :thumbs:They do look like the Vision Vivi Nova BUT usually Vendors will happily advertise that point. I would email the company and get confirmation. Here's a pic showing the diff BUT there are other counterfeit heads out there. The aluminum Vivi is safe to use with "acidic" juices.
