I have read of people soldering a 510 to ego adaptor into the stripped connection, not sure how you feel about soldering though. I believe the top cap is press fitted, some come off somewhat easy, while others would not come off in a nuclear blast. Also the wires are extremely small and would need to be soldered onto a new connection. I guess you really aren't going to be out anything if you try to take it apart and end up destroying it, good luck. Maybe one of the more experienced people will reply with a better work around.

I wish I could figure out how to take apart my V3 like that, the screen and buttons are a little crooked. I think the PCB is mounted inside at an angle. Unfortunately I can't see for the life of me how to get inside of the thing.
V3 head is press fit into the upper control head body...there isn't a "replacement" head...was trying my google fu to find the original manufacturer and see if parts available..and my Google fu met Chuck Norris...fooey

Has anyone seen if the V3 head unscrews from the top?
