I recently did a dry burn and also implemented this trick: How To: Fix Kanger EVOD leaking/gurgling issues | Deus Ex Vaporis to prevent gurgles and leaks on the Protank (employed two rubber gaskets instead of one, trimmed my own thicker silica flavor wick and removed the two stock flavor wicks).
Flavor and vapor was great, it worked fine for about a day.
Now the Protank on my VAMO has always been kind of touchy - I read about overtightening and really try as hard as I can to just make a connection and leave it at that. The '9.9 ohm' reading has become all too familiar to me. I can get it to read 2.4, and I'll vape it, but I can hear the 'sizzle' of the juice wicking as it gets weaker and weaker then eventually stops (all while I'm pressing the button and taking a draw). So I check the ohm reading, 9.9 again. Crap, okay, unscrew, retighten, 2.4, hit it, weak hit, 9.9. I've tried screwing it in as tightly as I feel comfortable doing so (not torquing it, just snugger than I'd normally like, same thing. 2.4, hit it, weak hit, check again, 9.9.
What could I have done? Why is this happening? Any ideas on how to fix it?
edit: just after I posted this, I gave it another try. I could actually feel it get progressively weaker as the ohms climbed. I checked it at 2.4, vaped it, felt good. Checked it, 2.6. Okay.
Tried again, this wasn't as good, checked it, 4.0. What.
Tried one more time, barely got anything, checked it, 9.5. Then 9.9 when I checked a moment later without vaping it.
This is without me making any adjustments to the Protank/VAMO connection at all. Whoa!
