Mine is doing that too, just not very often. So far it's been 3 times in the past few days. Just a few minutes ago when it happened it reverted (apparently) default settings. Voltage, 3.0v

I have a CGR18650CH in mine, currently @ 4.0 volts charge. I stretched the spring a bit yesterday and applied a tiny amount of electrical lubricant on the threaded parts. So , thats not it.

Use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol and gently clean the contact that connects to the positive end of the battery. Also, clean both the top and the bottom of your batteries. Dust, debris, juice gunk, oxidation, what have you might be causing the battery to break contact.

One thing that might be going on too is that the indentations created by the Vamo and other mods on the two ends of the battery may be causing them to lose contact.

What kind of batteries are you using? Does it happen with all of the batteries you've tried? If they're the grey DKI batteries (come with some Vamo kits), and they're being used regularly, try getting some AW, Panasonic or Efest batteries. Those DKI's are junk and if their chemistry is getting screwy, the protection circuitry in the Vamo is just doing its job.

Excellent advice and information from IBCR Media.

I might add to check the threading of the battery cap. If it is dark and gritty, that material can interfere with the conduction of the battery circuit. Get a small tube of Noaloxx, an antioxidant and lubricant for metal threads, from the electrical section of your hardware store and work a small amount into the threading and then wipe it clean. The threads should look shiney on bare metal. Reapply as needed. A small amount left on the threading will also act as a lubricant.

I had a very similar problem with my Lavatube, which has the same chipset in it I believe (I know they're the same as the vamo v2's). What I found to be the problem was the contact between the threaded body portions, i.e. the bottom battery cap and the top portion of the mod. In my case, I used a couple of rubber o-rings to provide a little bit more holding force on the threads when fully seated.

What I mean by that is this:

Top of mod
o-rings (1 or 2 placed over the male threads and up to the base of the threads)
bottom cap

Thus, I could tighten the bottom cap into the o-rings, and it would give me good, solid contact on the threads. Took care of the problem for me. I don't have the mod anymore, otherwise I'd post a pic :).

Noalox! The K-Y jelly of mod threads!

I didn't think about the possibility of galled threads. Good catch.

My vamo v3 has been shutting itself off pretty regularly for days now. I've had It two and a half months, and been very happy so far but now I have to 5-press every time I went a vape! Could the spring be wearing out from My buttontop 18350's?? Can anyone recommend a better spring??

I have the EGO Evic and if I don't touch mine in 30-40 mins I have to 5X press. I asked the local vendor about this and she said that it automatically goes into sleep mode to save battery power...
