A buddy of mine has a vamo v5. He has recently noticed that the ohms for all of his atties will slowly rise. His current coil has gone from 2.1 to 2.5 ohms. I have no idea what it is because each of his atomizers is doing it... anybody got an idea?
I think that a coil might increase in ohms after it starts to get gunked up with use. I would try cleaning, dry burning and see if it makes a difference. I also could be totally wrong in my thinking.
No doubt... I've had bad experience with the Vamo v5 so I really can't help him out because mine worked for a week until (and I think) the chip fried... the ohms would read outrageously high (like a 1.8 ohm kanger coil was reading 4.6) and wouldn't fire at all no matter what I hooked up to it.
It's not just a Vamo thing, though. I've had the same thing happen on MVPs and Egos. I think it has something to do with the way wire works when varying current is passed through it frequently. Sorry - a bit vague I know.
Depending on the ejuice I have had this happen on my T3Ss over time, not so much with my Katfuns and other rebuidables. This may be due to the thickness of the coil wire and its susceptibility to being affected by gunking up.
The darker and thicker the ejuice, the more I have seen it happen to me. As someone already stated, a good rinse, soak, and dryburn will do wonders for vapor and flavor.
