IMHO the most important thing is to buy from someone you trust. All of the vendors I use are at least registered suppliers on the forum. Preferably forum suppliers. Here are three links for you.

1. registered suppliers forum E Cigarette Suppliers Forum

2. Forum Suppliers Forum Suppliers

3. My favorite supplier of hardware, we have 2 of the v3's they outlasted my sons Vamo V5.http://shop.desertvapes.com/

There are several makers of the Vamo, and, IIRC, the KSD version was the "original." And all of them seem to be of the same general quality, so I'd not be too concerned about it.

Agree with this. There is no "authentic" Vamo, as they are manufactured by several different manufacturers.

The VAMO5 is a control unit with a replaceable/rechargeable inside of it . I have used mine for a month with reused laptop batterys . But I dont Vape over 10 watts most days . If you want to know if a VAMO you are thinking about buying comes with a real , not rewraped , battery I would say that you would have to read the sellers reviews . Just remember that a good battery 18650 costs about the same nomatter who is selling them . So if the deal is to good to be true.......then chances are its a cheep battery. But like i said ,you dont need a super battery to run a VAMO5 chipset .

Both will perform about the same, but each has "issues." :)

The SVD is perhaps better built, heavier, allows you to lock your settings so they don't get changed accidentally. It will telescope to take different size batteries. But there are numerous reports of problems with the fire button failing.

The Vamo feels lighter made, but not flimsy at all. No ability to lock settings, and for different size batteries you remove tube sections. But there are numerous reports of "soft" 510 threads stripping out. Easily averted with a thread adapter, but that will make it a bit taller.
