FYI ... Copied from the Vamo Battery Thread

A group of people who know about batteries and safety contributed to the ECF guide on batteries:
From that guide there is this:
We now advise that Li-Mn or top-quality Li-FePo4 rechargeables are used in APVs, in preference to rechargeable Li-ions. We suggest the best option, in order, is:

1. AW IMR Li-Mn rechargeables.
2. AW Li-FePo4 rechargeables [Li-FePo4's MUST HAVE A SPECIAL CHARGER]. Note that these batteries are mostly 3 volt nominal so the system voltage will be lower than normal.
3. Good quality (such as AW or Pila) protected Li-ion rechargeables.
4. Branded protected Li-ions come next - such as xxxfire Li-ion rechargeables (for xxx insert Trust / Sure / Ultra-).
5. The least-preferable option is a generic protected Li-ion.
6. Unprotected rechargeable Li-ion cells should not be used.
7. Standard cells (non-rechargeable) should not be used
IMR batteries will not ruin this device, and are the least likely to explode on you. IMRs are not protected - they have a different, and actually safer chemistry.

You would think that the batteries that come with the kit should work.. We'll see what happens when my other batteries get here...

That was my worry. At least with the Pana & Efest on the way you will know for sure. Please let us know the results once they arrive.

I believe your problems will be solved.

Right now I have 2 Efest IMR18350's and 2 Panasonic IMR Hybrid High Drain 18650 2250mah's coming, we'll see what happens then. If it doesn't work with those 18350's, then there is a problem with the vamo..

Those are exactly the batteries I have in flat tops, though I was told later nipple tops are better for the Vamo, either should definitely narrow down your problem.

.

Unfortunately a lot of vendors just throw cheap parts together, although to be fair they can't test out everything. Even if your new batteries work fine you should contact the vendor, they'll probably do something for you or at the very least they might want to know that kit has problems in some configurations.

I received my efest 18350's and some panasonic 18650's.. My VAMO wont do either battery type in single mode.. dual 18350's only.. getting a replacement VAMO shipped.

That is odd: I guess we were wrong in this case. Well, the good thing is you will have a few spare batts :)
