Vanilla Extract flavoring?

Any reason not to use kitchen high-grade vanilla extract for flavoring? Is this any different than, for example, a LorAnn vanilla?

And I mean real vanilla extract, not imitation...

Just wondering!

I do not know... The pure vanilla extract in my cupboard has sugar listed on the ingredient list which I'd worry would foul an atomizer. It also lists "extractives" but does not say what they are.

Real vanilla extract has sugar and large organic molecules.

Other than the potential atomizer clogging effects, it is just as good as artificial.

I'd say no - food-grade vanilla extract is suspended in alcohol and, hence, not strong enough.
What's wrong with LorAnn products?

Nothing wrong with it... I've bought lots of them recently... I just realized I forgot to get Vanilla, and I thought perhaps extract would be a good substitute...

I didn't even think of the sugar factor. I'll hit up a cake decorating shop or something for LorAnns...

There are imitation vanillas I have used off the store shelves that are based in PG. I just don't want the artificial colors and a few other ingredients listed I saw vaporized in my atomizer. I have purchased a number of vanilla flavorings from the different flavor vendors online (in order to get a good vanilla flavor) and I am still looking for that perfect vanilla. It is a tough flavor to master.

I make my own vanilla, and it is made with alchohol. (no sugar). It's also much stronger than the imitation stuff or even the 'real' vanilla you can buy at the store. I also made some drops (for diy) with it. However - it IS still weaker than the Loranns and such.
