I'm a Moon Baby too, no wonder I like you ;)

Not a vegetable steamer, you goob, something like a Steam Shot or such.

Oooh, smarta** time?? Yes, we do have Pimm's here in the wilderness, I just forgot about it in my senility

Hey! We were talking about boiling; a veggie steamer is an obvious conclusion given that! :p

And as far as Pimm's cups goes, I've never seen them served anywhere except here. I had one for the first time at the Napoleon House, in the Quarter. I actually managed to get their recipe for it, being such a loyal customer during my years living there (in the Quarter, not the Napoleon House, lol).

You gotta love New Orleans; Napoleon House has been here serving food and drink since 1797, if their ads are to be believed. Tujaques, a restaurant on Decatur Street pre-dates the Civil War, while Galatoires has been on Bourbon St for at least 100 years. Coming from Atlanta, where the restaurants come and go in about a year or so (except for the Colonnade, of course, which I think just turned 50 a few years back), it was an eye-opening experience.

I'm kinda popping in and out in between patients. The last patient was a 16 year old drunk as a skunk native kid. And there's about 6 cops over there. Really? It takes that many of you?

Anyway I just wanted to pipe up and say 50 is NOT OLD! I'm in between you two pinheads and I refuse to consider any of us OLD! Ok some days I might feel old but those are getting less frequent. I think we should embrace our,,,,,,,, oh who am I kidding? I hate being oldER. Not old, mind you. OldER.

I'm stealing reidus's recipe too. I can never duplicate what I got in NO years ago though. But I keep trying.

Cookster, when mythus and I go visit Cheeky you must come too. Cant even tell you how bad I want that to happen. Someday (*sigh*)

I think boiling = veggie steamer association for guys, and most women automatically think clothing or cleaning. :)

Wonder if I can find a Pimms cup here.... Or create one - what is it exactly? :)

Sounds good to me..my daughter is at USF in Tampa, and my son will be going there in August, so a detour to see you all would be excellent!

Oooo. Cheeky that's a beauty! Very pretty indeed!

Reidus, I boil cartos. Cover with water, boil 5 minutes. Drain, rinse, cover again and boil again. I do that about 5 times. Til the water stays clear and doesn't smell anymore. Rinse, let em cool blow em out and I used to put them over the heat vents but cant do that so I think you can put them open side down on some paper towels. I find they take forever to dry though. Some people put them in the oven at low temp, I've never tried that. The only problem I ever had was knowing how many times any carto had been cleaned and ive ended up with dead ones after cleaning. I swore I wouldn't waste my time doing it again.

The ProVari still hasn't shipped yet, but I didn't get the order in until about 45 minutes after the blue LED option became available. Just before it was time to start checking, my manager called me into a meeting. Oh well, it should ship within a few days anyway. :D

Something with Jägermeister, please? :toast:

Please! Anything but Jagermeister! I've got too many bad Jager memories from college, lol. I remember once drinking something a Black Baby Jesus, which was Jager mixed with Sambuca! Talk about nasty!

Good luck with the Red Beans and Rice. The only problem you might have is finding Creole Seasoning. I've got a recipe for it if you need it.

Re: Pimms cup, you might have problems finding Pimms; but any upscale liquor store should carry it. Does FL still have state-run liquor stores? As far as making it, Cook's recipe is indeed the way it's made in Britain, from whence Pimms originates. Napoleon House uses a different recipe, which is basically 1 part Pimms, 2 parts lemonade, and fill the glass with 7up (I kid you not!). Garnish with a cucumber slice and serve over ice. (The actual recipe calls for 1 1/4 oz Pimms and 3 oz. Lemonade. I'm not nearly organized enough to deal with that, lol.)

Cheeky, here's the recipe:

Red Beans and Rice
1 pkg. red kidney beans
2-3 tbsp. oil
1 cup onions
1 cup celery
1 cup green bell pepper
Meat (ham, sausage, ham hock, etc.) the more the better ;-)
3-4 tbsp creole seasoning
2 bay leaves
Either soak the beans overnight or do a quick soak: put beans and water into a stockpot, bring to a boil, turn off the heat and soak for 1 hour.
In a large Dutch over, sauté onions, celery and bell pepper in oil until tender, around 10 minutes. Add beans and remaining ingredients; cover with water (if cooking in a Dutch over, add water to around 1 inch over beans).and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 2 ½ to 3 hours. Mash some of the beans against the side of the pot to thicken. Add cooked rice and serve.

Oh and a trick Mom showed me: Combine the onion, celery and bell pepper with the oil in a microwave-safe dish and nuke them! She says she sautes all her veggies that way and it actually works! Nuke on high for 5 minutes and check; you might need to go a few minutes more. Less mess and keeps that stove turned off.;)

And thanks; I went back to Deej's site and found the Apocalyptic Lemonberry. it. Will definitely include in my next order.

Thanks Reidus!!! Copy/Paste!

It really is quite lovely, Cheeky. Oh, and Blu, I really like your wooden PVD as well (I categorically refuse to call it a woody, lol.). I've got one on my birthday wish list, but I'm not holding my breath. Mom and Sis had a good point: why would I want a wooden version of a device I already have? So I'm looking at one of the others. Any advice?

BECAUSE IT"S BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! Next time you mom & sister ask why you would want wooden version of something you already have, ask them why they have the same pair of shoes in 3 colors :D (or the same style, height of heel, etc... god I miss heels!)
And thank you :)

Glen - I meant to compliment your woodie earlier - it's really lovely! The shape is wonderful, and I bet it has great hand feel!

I'm loaded up with attys, cartos, Trippy's...I'm one happy Vaper!!! Here's a pick of my new toy with one of my new matching Trippys!!! Yahoooo!!! And Loads of Juice on the way!!!View attachment 105187
YAY YOU GOT YOUR MINI!!!!!!! Are you in  yet? :)
OH! super shorty carto co-op is here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo.../301832-smoktech-mini-cartomizers-1-7ohm.html

Speaking of co-ops, there is a Panasonic 18650 co-op in the works - 3.89 per battery, includes insurance in case of defects. Fantastic price - still room to get in on the co-op, and you can choose flat top or nipple top. The nipples are great for the provari with ext cap (I have 2 from smartvapes, and was planning to order more - this is less than half the price!)

Well everyones toys are just gorgeous! Glen, that woody is awfully sweet! And I think Cheeky is right, probly fits just right in the hand. I left one of my KGOs with my xray buddy, we'll see how she does over the weekend. I also ran into the nurse that got one a couple weeks ago and she's loving it. That makes me happy!

I'm getting a little burnt taste on the second fill in my new CE3s. Don't know what that's about.

Got notified by dannoman that they accepted me in their alpha program at Gotvapes. I'm kinda excited about that! First dibs on new stuff!

Yes, I would like the recipe for that Creole seasoning. Its gotta be better than anything I'd find around here. And thanks!

Here ya go, luv:

Creole Seasoning
"This Creole seasoning blend is great for seasoning rice, meats, soups and stews, or anything that needs a flavor boost. Also makes a great gift when placed in a decorative jar with recipe attached."
INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 tablespoons dried basil
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon white pepper
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
5 tablespoons paprika
3 tablespoons salt
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a small bowl, combine onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, thyme, black pepper, white pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika and salt. Store in an airtight container.

It makes a boatload of seasoning, but that's okay as it'll last forever as long as you keep it in an airtight container. I've made 6 batches of RB&R with this seasoning, and we still have some left. And it's not as hot as you might think Creole seasoning would be. Too many people think that cajun/creole = mouth-blistering hot. We don't necessarily like heat, just well-seasoned food. I think that's a Southern thing in general. I was horrified the first time a friend from Iowa cooked dinner; there was no salt or pepper on anything! There's a reason why my salt bowl and my pepper mill sits right next to my stove, lol.
