So here we are, two weeks in and at least 100mls through my REO and about 5 or so different builds on the RM2.

I'm absolutely in LOVE, and plan to purchase an LP Grand and Mini as well as (hopefully) either an existing Woodville or one from the next run (whenever that is). The only issue I am having is consistency in the vapor and each hit.

It seems almost like it doesn't make a good connection, sometimes I get my lovely full and warm vapes but more often I am getting cooler and less dense hits. A couple times it was just the screws needing to be adjusted, but for the past few days nothing has fixed it. Swapped in fresh batteries, rebuilt, rewicked, wiped out the drip cup and 510 and flushed the tube with water, etc.

Now, I am assuming that maybe my REO needs a deep clean, which is kinda surprising seeing as how I have had it only 2 weeks, but I'm not always right. Do any of you REOnauts have input for a newbie? Maybe some tips and tricks?

Would not think it needed a cleaning after just two weeks.

Try turning your battery a little when it is giving you the cooler hits. Listen to the sound of the coil firing. You should hear a good swooshing type sound when the coil is firing right.

Listen for any change in that with the different hits you get. If you are not hearing it or it is very quiet then remove the door and turn your battery while firing. See if you hear it swoosh louder.

I have experienced this with the new contacts. A turn of the battery kicks it back in. I also have applied Noalox to the top of the battery to see if he helped.

Thinking the contact is not touching the battery right and that causes it to be very weak.

I just changed my batt and threw a subohm coil on it and all is well now. I do need to buy some noalax, that's definitely on my list for this payday as well as more DIY stuff since I'm running low on my favorite flavors. I did kinda blow through alot in the last couple of weeks though lol.

If it's fairly new( not bought on classifieds) it would have the sub ohm kit and almost never need cleaning. Have you checked that the screws capturing your coil are fully tightened down? Now this next one is a bit specific and strange but if you are using flat tops and pushing the door up from the bottom sometimes the magnet will move your battery just enough to muck up your connection if that's it just put your door on from the top. I'm sure others will have more to add but it's always been one or the other for me. Happens more often on my mini though but still not very often

Yea I only use VTC4s since I regularly subohm my mechs, and I knew Abt the door thing because that threw me off the first few days lol.

I bought it brand new through Robs website so it's got the upgraded contacts. The RM2 has been having issues with the screws backing themselves out after awhile but now my AM routine is to rewick, refill and pop a fresh battery in. I'm getting new batteries this week because the ones I have are slightly bent inward on top because of some telescoping mechs I've used recently.

Not sure what gauge wire you are using but the thicker wire leads to screws coming loose more often. I suggest 28,29,30 gauge. IMO
I had a problem similar just last night and sure enough one of the screws was loose. Tightend and voila..back to clouds & flavor! :)
Doesn't take much, it was only less than a 1/4 turn loose on 1 screw!

I've had the loose RM2 post screw problem making my vape intermittently weak, too.

I've found that sometimes if you have a loose post screw and tighten it down, and if you have your wire snipped or snapped off flush with the other side of the post, the screw can kind of push the wire out of the hole when you're re-tightening causing all sorts of connection issues.

I leave a tail at the other side of the post and fold it up to keep it from moving when tightening down. I also loosen and then re tighten my screws when I start having these issues.

I use 28 and 30g kanthal regularly, sometimes ribbon wire. Anyways, I think it might be just a sign to me that the coil is getting gunked up because I tend to make sweeter liquids with marshmallow and sweetener in almost all of my recipes.

I was experiencing the same thing when using batteries other than what Rob recommends (AW 1600 IMR 18650 & AW 1100 IMR 18490).

It sounds silly and I know others use different batteries but it totally got rid of that "inconsistency".

But right now I'm at about .2 ohms, a coil I usually use about three days out of the week and I don't think AWs have the amps I'd need. I'll have to look into them and buy a pair for the other half of the week lol.

Well, at 4.2v that's 21 amps....the AW IMR 1600mah is rated at 24 amps. Might be a bit too close for comfort for you, but should be fine.

I know lol. Right now I have a 5 wrap of triple twisted 28ga, I haven't measured because let's face it, I NEVER measure, but it SHOULD be between .3-.4 ohms based on previous experience.

Another reason I love the vtc4/5 batts. I only have to worry when I'm below .2, and that's hard to hit accidentally besides a hard short, which I've been lucky enough to avoid thus far.

I was wrong previously abt the .2 ohms. I was thinking dual coil resistance because I wrapped 2 coils but am obviously only using 1.

This may be a silly question but why do the screws loosen up. When I build a new coil I always tighten down the screws and when I rewick I check and 9 times out of 10 they are still tight. After reading this I went and check my 5 Reomizers and 2 out of the 5 had loose screws. They were tight Saturday and I haven't dropped or banged the Reos or atties at all. I may answer my own question but could it be due to the constant heating and cooling of the coils?

That'd be my guess, but I'm no rocket surgeon.
