The "bud vase" works perfectly to keep my it within reach. Who knew that VW designed cars with vaping in mind? :2cool:

It's things like this that have made them so successful. Whereas my Saab wagon has one dinky little cupholder that pops out of the dash. No wonder they're out of business.

My Mercedes E55 doesn't even have a cup holder in it. They do have them but they break super easily. If the drink spills on the shifter you're SOL with these cars as well (it's not a cheap fix either).

gives me an idea for my car!
Cool. Gives me some ideas.

Would love to see what you come up with. updates when you do it!

Don't feel bad. We have several VW's and the older ones never came with any cupholders at all. I guess Germans (and Swedes!) really, really did not like drinking and driving.

I was looking at those new turbo VW's. Since I don't need an ashtray anymore, a PV carrier looks mighty nice.
The newest redesigned Beetles ditched the bud vase in favor of sportier, Porsche-ish design. Mine is an 03 Turbo S...love it and don't want to get rid of it, have been very lucky to not have had any issues with it at all.

Darn...just traded in my VW Beetle for a VW CC.
:(
Edit: not really a :(
Loving the CC. Has a handy place for my Kgo...just not a bud vase.

You have a CC?? yes, I am jealous. That is a gorgeous car. Several die hard BMW owners at my work (I am in the auto industry) have picked up CC's lately in lieu of their usual favorites.

Nice find my XB2 has a cubby to the left of the wheel that works about the same, but i usually keep my ego in the front shirt pocket.

I'd do that, if my shirts had pockets...that, and...well, women are not designed for shirt pockets :)

My 300 has a rubber tray on the front of the console that fits my vmax and a twist just perfect. Being made of rubber that way I don't scratch or bruise my babies. :))

More about that shiny red bike! Can't quite make out the model...anything with wheels is my other passion. I have an FJR.
