When I was a smoker I amde a conscious effort to not smoke around my kids, in the house, car, etc ... however vaping is not smoking. I don't necessarily go out of my way to vape in front of my kids but it does not bother me at all. I'm curious what other parents think?

My two youngest are pretty much grown--17 and 20 and my oldest is 28 so I really don't have a problem vaping in front of them--in fact my 20 yr old is now vaping albeit "part time" but its a start. And they couldn't be happier that I'm no longer smoking cigarettes. I think the more you try to "hide" things from your children the more they see it as something taboo that only grown ups should be doing and want to try it even more. I've always been very open and honest with my children about everything I do and they are we me as well--None of them have ever been afraid to tell me anything!

I don't have kids, but if I did I would probably vape around them.
In fact, if I was considering health reasons, I would probably choose to purposely vape around them to kill germs and such.

On the other hand, I also believe in collecting germs and letting your body build a strong defense system.
So yeah, that's kind of a catch-22 in that regard.

i hid from mine when i smoked. when i started vaping i tested on the cat first, by blowing a cloud in his face. he just blinked and looked at me. so i knew the stuff was good to go. my youngest, 13 yrs old, calls it my "smoke assassin", though ive never owned one of those, he must have heard the ad on the radio about them. maybe he thinks the name is kewl.

cats know all there is to know about clean living. when in doubt, ask a cat.

My kids are grown and moved out years ago, when they come for a visit I vape in the house. They're adults and can decide on their own now.

When friends and family bring their kids over I take it out of the house. I figure it's up to the kid's parents to decide what they should be exposed to.

im of the opposite mindset. it's my house, my rules. if the parents of those other kids have a problem with it, they can take over the mortgage, then they can have a say in what i should be doing. but i can appreciate your point of view too.

My 13 year old nieces think it's great. I actually showed them when I got my first kit that I was trying something to finally be off the analogs. They had seen me smoke (or at least knew I was going to find a smoking area) at Disney etc. although I made it a point to never be close to them while smoking. Now I can sit a the same table playing games etc and have a puff when I need one. Not only are they proud of me for quitting the cigs (I've had a few here and there, but we're talking a pack in 2 1/2 months not 2 packs a day), but now they have seen just how difficult it is to get off cigs. They've seen what it did to my asthma (they both have asthma since they were infants), they've seen the chronic bronchitis, they've seen me hack brown stuff from my lungs, they've watched 2 grandparents die from smoking related illness.

I felt like I had exposed them to smoking..... and since they knew that Aunt Jenny HAD to have a cig fix for stress, relaxation, etc... I kind of owed it to them to explain and expose them to a better way that isn't going to kill me or harm me (as far as we know). I hope they never pick up a cigarette...... but if they ever do, you can be sure that I'll supply them with vape gear as well if that time ever comes.

My kids are now 20 and 22 and they both smoke, I vape around them, got my oldest to vape too but he still smokes analogs as well. When they were younger I didn't smoke around them, and I didn't smoke in the house. I vape in the house now though, I have 3 other kids that stay here at the house too until they can afford to get an apartment and while they go out to smoke I laugh at them and vape in their face especially when it is raining or unbelievably hot..... can't wait till winter to laugh even harder..... if they are still living here lol
